TW: Blood and self-harm.

ROSE'S POV:

"Ready?"

"Always!"

"Three—Two—One..."

"Happy birthday, idiots!" Lee and I yelled at the top of our lungs. Water fell from the sky and into Fred and George's sleeping figures.

"What the bloody hell?!" George screeched as he jumped out from his bed. Lee and I were topping off with laughter.

"Wut's goin on?!" Fred asked in a mumble.

"It-t's your birthda-ay!" I said in between laughs, finally able to control my laughter.

"It's bloody early!" Fred moaned as he covered his head with the duvet again.

"Frederick Weasley! Get up, for Merlin's Sake!" I yelled into his ear once  I walked besides his bed.

"You're leaving me deaf, woman!" He complained. He got himself out of the duvet and tossed me over his shoulder.

"Fred! Put me down!" I screeched as I punched his back. Of course, him being a beater, didn't bat an eye. "Fred!"

The ginger boy threw me down on his bed, and then threw himself on top of me as he tickled my sides. George and Lee, who were wide awake, were laughing and leaning against the wall for support.

"Stop!" I laughed. "I hate tickles!"

"Then maybe you shouldn't've woken me up, Rosie-Posie!" He said as he finally stopped tickling me. My breathing was uneven and my heart was pounding in my chest. I sat up on the bed and clutched my heart.

"I hate tickles." I mumbled as I regained my breath.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Fred began.

"It's APRIL FOOL DAYS!" Both twins roared. I let out a few laughs as I shook my head in amusement.

"Yeah, Yeah." Lee said dismissively as he pushed George into the bathroom. "Hurry or Annie is going to have your head for being late!"

"Why would Annie be upset for us being late for breakfast?" Fred, who was grabbing his jumper from his trunk, asked.

"Because she's waiting outside the common room." I shrugged.

— — —

"You four took forever!" Annie complained the second we walked out of the portrait.

"This two dorks wouldn't get out of bed." I said as I jabbed  my finger at the twins.

"OI!" They said at the same time. Lee laughed and swatted them over the head with his hand. I snorted a laugh and Annie stuck out her tongue at George.

"Fred! George!" A voice said from behind. I turned around to find Angelina and Alicia jogging to catch up with us.

"Hello!" Annie said politely. Angie and Alicia smiled at her and turned to the twins.

"Are we still doing the party at the common room?" Angelina asked fluttering her eyelashes at Fred, and for some reason avoiding my eye.

"You know it!" Fred said, giving the girl a wink. Angelina smiled and looked down at her feet. I furrowed my eyebrows and turned to Annie, who was as confused as I was. My eyes were in a mix of orange and yellow.

Annie tugged on my sleeve as she dragged me away from the weird exchange.

"What was that?!" I asked annoyed once we were out of earshot.

"Don't know," Annie said confused. She shrugged and turned to me. "Never really did like Johnson either way."

I stared at the Hufflepuff girl in pure shock. "You? Don't like someone?" I snorted.

"What?" She responded. "Just because I am a Hufflepuff doesn't mean that sugar has to drip from my every word." I shook my head.

"It's official!" I said as I clapped my hands. "We've broken you!"

"Don't flatter yourself!" Anne said in fake annoyance. "It takes more than a couple Gryffindors to break Annabelle Freaking Fletcher."

I laughed at my best friends words and hung an arm around her shoulder.

"Rose—Annie!" I heard Fred call from behind us. We both turned around, finding that the three boys were also running towards us. "Why'd you leave?" Fred asked once the boy catched up with us.

"Didn't want to interrupt your little—" I started bitterly, but was cut off by Anne's hand over my mouth.

"We are really hungry!" Annie lied as she placed her Hufflepuff smile on her face. I glared at the blonde girl as my eyes shifted to orange.

"Then what are we waiting for?!" Lee said as he ushered the five of us into the Great Hall.

I sat in between Annie and George, the latter shooting me questioning looks. I busied myself with some oatmeal, thinking about what had just happened.

Why was I feeling like this? Why the bloody hell would Angelina flutter her eyelashes like that at Fred? And why did he wink at her?

I furrowed my eyebrows even more as I stabbed a piece of strawberry with my spoon.

A hand grabbed a hold of my wrist, I looked up only to find George with an amused expression on his face. "Careful there, Ro. You're murdering your breakfast."

"Sorry," I mumbled as I put a spoon-full of oats in my mouth.

"What is it with you?!" George breathed in my ear.

I glared at him and shrugged my shoulders. "Nothing! Leave it alone."

"Nothing, leave it alone!" George said in an odd imitation of my voice.

"I'm serious about this, George. Quit it!" I hissed through gritted teeth.

"Fine! Merlin, someone's cranky!" George said as he held up his hands in surrender.

"I'm not cranky!" I snapped, forgetting we were in a public place. Some people from the Gryffindor table snapped their heads towards me.

Annie was looking at me with pity, Lee had a similar expression on his face. George's face was showing regret, Fred was looking up at me astounded.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled as I got up from the table. "I'll meet you at the party later." I began to walk away from the table, ignoring the looks most people were giving me.

"Lightbourn!" Someone yelled once I was out in the corridor. I turned around and my eyes instantly turned blood red.

"What do you want, Pucey?!" I snarled, keeping my hand near my wand. "I'm not in the mood to hex you today!"

"Relax, Lightbourn. I was only wondering if you were alright, you seemed pretty upset back there." The Slytherin said as he passed a hand through his hair and brought it down to scratch his neck.

I was taken back for a second, before I placed my mental walls back up. "In that case, grab your bloody wonderings and shove them right up your arse!" I yelled, as I turned on my heel and stormed through the opposite direction.

I marched through the corridors of Hogwarts, with no real destination. I bumped into several people, but I was not keen on starting a conversation, so I ignored their attempts to chat.

I ended up sitting on the court yard, playing with a little flower. I almost didn't notice the ginger boy who sat down next to me. Almost

"I'm sorry for provoking you, you were obviously pissed about something else. I shouldn't of pushed your buttons, Rose." He said. I took a deep breath and turned towards George. His eyes were pleading for forgiveness.

"You know what, George? You're right. I was pissed about something else and I took it out on you. So i'm sorry too."

"It's fine, Rosie." George said as he stood up and extended his hand towards me. "Now let's go, parties about to start!"

I grinned and let him pull me up and inside of the castle.

— — —

"You're here!" Fred called the second George and I stepped into the common room. Annie, Lee, Angelina, and Alicia were all sitting in a circle near the fireplace. There were three free spaces in between Lee and Annie, I supposed they were for us.

"Come here, we are taking dares!" Lee yelled from his place in the floor. The twins and I walked to the circle, I sat down in between Fred and Annie.

"Everything alright now, Ro?" Annie asked, in a low voice, sweetly. I smiled at my friend and nodded my head. We both turned our attention back to the front. I leaned back into the couch behind me and tilted my head a little.

"Who wants to start?!" George called exitetly.

"I'll start!" Annie said innocently.  Everyone was either quirking their eyebrows at her, or were giving her a confused look.

"Alright..." George said warily before he straighten his shoulders and spoke once more. "Annie Fletcher, I dare you to... PULL A PRANK WITH FRED, ROSE, AND I!"

Annie smirked at the boy. "Fine!"

"Really?!" Fred, George, and I asked eagerly. My eyes gold with hope.

"Sure," She said. "But tomorrow."

"Fair enough." Fred shrugged. "It's your turn to dare someone, Anne."

"Hmm..." Annie said as she put her finger on her chin in a thoughtful manner. "Johnson!"

I snapped my head towards the blonde immediately. In Anne's eyes I saw a glint of something I usually saw on the twin's eyes, in her eyes I saw mischief. Anne had a smirk worthy of a Slytherin plastered on her face.

"Shoot, Fletcher!" Angelina responded bolty.

"I dare you to tell me who you fancy." Annie said at once. Instantly I felt uneasy, Angelina now had a triumphant smirk on her face.

"Fred." She said boldly. My eyes widened and my jaw opened a little. Fred was becoming more and more flustered by the second.  George and Lee were laughing at his expression. Annie had a look that resembled mine, she was quickly shooting me apologetic glances.

"My turn!" Angelina chirped, her eyes scanned the room until they landed on me. "I have a question. Why are you here, Rose?"

"I beg your pardon?" I asked astounded. Everyone, except for Alicia and Angelina, were confused by her question.

"Everyone else here are thirteen, you are still only twelve." She pointed out.

"Why would that matter?" George asked. "Rose will be thirteen this summer anyways."

"Yes but she's still immature." Angelina said.

"Why would you say i'm immature for?" I asked, starting to get annoyed.

"Because you wouldn't do this, even if your life depended on it." The girl said with a malicious smirk.

"Do what—" I was cut off by my own gasp. Without a second of hesitation, Angelina had grabbed Fred's collar and forced her lips on his. Annie clapped her hands over her mouth, George was staring at me, and Lee was looking in pure disgust at the scene.

Angelina disconnected herself from Fred and turned to me, she raised both her eyebrows up and down in a teasing manner.

"You're a bitch, Angelina." I whispered, my eyes turning blood red.

"Whatever do you mean?" She asked in a fake-sweet voice. I rolled my eyes and left the common room, ignoring George's calls.

Once out of the common room, I broke into a run. Running at full speed through all the corridors of Hogwarts, tripping once or twice near the stairs but regaining my balance. No matter how hard I ran, the pit in my stomach simply wouldn't go away.

I stopped running in an empty corridor, far enough from the Gryffindor Tower. I gripped and pulled at my blood red hair in frustration, pacing back and forth throughout the deserted hall.

I let out a harsh scream in the middle of my frustration, and punched a wall once. The pit of my stomach numbed for a second. I hit the wall again, and again, and again, and again. Letting out all my anger.

The wall was soon covered in red fresh blood, the smell of metal filling up my nostrils. I didn't care, I continue to beat up the wall.

Two strong arms wrapped themselves on my middle as they lifted me up from the floor.

"LET ME DOWN!" I roared in anger. "LET ME DOWN, YOU INSOLENT LITTLE MOTHERFUCKER!"

"Woah, calm down!" The person behind me urged. "Please! Calm down! It's fine, you're safe!" The voice soothed as the person held me tighter against their chest. I got a whiff of an elegant cologne mixed with peppermint.

"Shh, please Lightbourn" The person, who I determined was a boy, dropped to their knees and brought me down with him. He hugged me closely in hopes to calm down my anger.

I looked up, a boy with brown hair, sharp jaw, and hazel eyes was staring down at me in a worried manner. It was only when the tears I didn't know had spilled, finally cleared up did I realize who it was.

None other than, Adrian fucking Pucey. I tried to wriggle out of his embrace but the Slytherin only tighten his arms around my frame.

"Get away from me!" I demanded.

"No!" He said instantly. "Lightbourn you're bleeding!"

"So what? Everyone bleeds! Now you know i'm human like the rest of you." I said, finally pulling myself out of him and only managing to place my back against the wall.

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"It means that even if I'm a mudblood, I fucking bleed red blood like you, pureblood." I spat.

"Lightbourn I don't think you're a mudblood." He quietly said, looking at his feet.

"Rubbish!" I scoffed. "You've called me a mudblood multiple times."

"No I haven't!" He insisted as he furthered himself closer to me. I gave him a warning look.

"Yes you have!" I accused.

"No, Lightbourn. I haven't!" He said with a deep sigh. "I've never stopped someone from calling you one, but i've never called you a mudblood myself."

"That-t" I stuttered. "That doesn't change anything between us!"

"It could." He offered. "If you allowed me, I could surprise you."

I quirked up my eyebrow and kept up looking at him warily.

"Just give me a chance." The boy begged. He extended his hand towards me, urging me to take it.

"I don't trust you." I informed him, my gaze hard as stone.

"Good, because I don't trust you either." He tried to amuse me. "But please, take my hand and I will help you."

"I don't want your help!" I snapped.

"But you need it!" He insisted yet again, this time more forcefully. "Please, Rose."

In that second, something snapped in my head. Pucey had never called me Rose, it was always 'Lightbourn'. But not now, now I was 'Rose'. Now he cared. My knuckles were still bleeding, the adrenaline long gone and the pain finally noticeable.

"Alright." I whispered. Laying my hand softly on his. Pucey stood up first, then he pulled me up. I winced from the pain in my hands.

"Let's get you to the kitchens," Pucey began as he guided me out of the corridor. "I'll heel you and then we can eat something, sound good?"

I nodded my head, slightly confused as to why I was being friendly with him.

———

Adrian kept his promise, he took me to the kitchen and healed my knuckles. We had dinner in the kitchens and he took me back to the fat-lady's portrait.

"Here's where I leave you, Lightbourn." Pucey said as he motioned to the entrance of the common room.

"Yeah," I sighed. "Back to hating each other, I guess." I joked.

"Don't say that, Lightbourn." Pucey said as he threw his head back. "You don't have to hate me. Or bring me up in flames for that matter." I snorted a laugh.

"Yeah well... See you in potions, Pucey." I waved the Slytherin off as I entered the common room.

"You're back!" Fred said the second I stepped in. Lee, George, and him were sitting in the couch, the latter standing up immediately.

"I guess I am." I mumbled. George rubbed his face and Lee sighed in triumph. Fred came closer to me.

"I-I don't know what came over Angelina, Rose. I swear-"

"Fred!" I exclaimed as I let out a fake laugh. "I-I don't care. Whatever Angelina did, is her problem. Not mine."

"You—You don't care?" Fred asked as he furrowed his brows.

"Why should I?"

"You know what?" Lee interrupted from the couch as he and George stood up. "This sounds like a private conversation, we are just gonna, you know, go..." George smiled sheepishly and both boys went up the staircase.

"So you don't care that Angelina snogged me?"

"No, Fred. I'm happy for you." I lied, the words burning in my throat.

"Happy?" He asked in surprise and confusion.

I swallowed my guilt and pride, as I lied yet again. "Happy."

"Alright then. Good night, Rose." Fred said, he had a crestfallen face for a second before he quickly covered it up. He went up the boy's staircase.

"Good night." I mumbled into the air. I moved to walk towards my dorm, but stopped in my tracks. Angelina was going to be there, and there was no way in hell that I would share a dorm with her tonight.

I sighed and slumping my shoulders, I fetched a blanket and laid down on the love-seat of the common room in front of the fireplace.
