ROSE'S POV:
After getting caught by Snape and Filch, the twins and I were given detention in a so called 'Forbidden Forest.' The name itself literally screams 'Come over!'
"Tonight you will be serving detention with Hagrid." Filch informed the three of us as we walked towards a wooden hut outside. The caretaker had made us all shut our mouths the second we stepped out of our common room.
Charlie and Percy were of course disappointed in me for breaking the rules, but they really should expect it by now. In my two years of Hogwarts I have gotten approximately fifteen detentions. I must admit is not much, but it certainly is something.
"Are we there yet?" I whispered in Fred's ear. He gave me a 'shut up' look. I rolled my eyes at the red-headed boy.
Finally we reached the edge of the forbidden forest and the hut. Standing there with a broad smile was a tall hairy man. I've heard about him, apparently he is very friendly but I haven't talked to him until now. Fred and George said that he helped carry me the day of the match.
"Hello kids!" Hagrid greeted. "I'll take 'em from here Filch!" The caretaker turned around and walked back to the castle, grumbling to himself.
"Firs' o' all, tell me your names!" Hagrid asked us. The three of us grinned at the man.
"I'm Fred!" Fred said while he shook the man's big hands, George did the same, and so did I.
"Excuse me, sir?" I asked timidly when he started walking into the forbidden forest.
"No need ter call me sir, Rosie." Hagrid laughed, I felt my eyes turn magenta.
"Right," I whispered before I spoke clearly. "What are we doing?"
"Yeh will help me with summat in the forbidden forest." The half-giant said while clapping his hands together and grinning.
"Wicked!" Fred, George, and I breathed. We walked inside the dark forest, the twins and I were messing around.
"Say Hagrid?" I called after fifteen minutes of walking, he turned around. "Where exactly are we going?"
"Ah, we are goin' ter meet me friend Aragog!" The man replied brightly, I nodded my head numbly.
"And who is Aragog?" George, who had been listening to the exchange, asked.
"An acromantula. Very peaceful thing he is, also very friendly." Hagrid shrugged.
"A what?!" Fred exclaimed.
"Hagrid, you do know that acromantulas eat people right?!" I asked exasperated.
"Aragog won' d'you no harm!" The man said as he shrugged of the three twelve year olds. ""Ah, here we are!"
I looked up slowly, only to be greeted by thousands sets of eyes and hundreds spiders. I felt a shudder go through my spine and I grasped Fred's hand tightly. George was squeezing my arm tightly, so much so that I am sure it will leave bruising tomorrow.
"If we run, would we still get detention?" I murmured in the twins' ears.
"Most likely." George whispered loud enough for Fred and I to hear.
"Who cares!" Fred whispered yelled, "Those things are going to eat us alive!"
"Would you rather they eat us another way?" I said sarcastically, but the panic was thick in my voice. Both twins turned to look at me, as if saying 'are you mad?'
"Aragog, this are Rose, Fred an' George!" Hagrid cheerfully informed the spider.
"The girl's eyes change." Aragog said nonchalantly. I felt my face pale, Fred tightened his grip on my hand, and George held my arm tighter.
"Hagrid?" I started quietly. "Can we go now?"
"Don' tell me yeh kids are scared! They won' d'you any harm!" The half giants said as he laughed at my question.
"We aren't scared!" Fred and George yelled at the same time. I jabed both boys on their ribs, the spiders around us were eyeing us as if we where their next meal.
"All righ' kids, aragog an' i have important things ter discuss. It'll on'y take a couple minutes, stay here." Hagrid ordered as he entered a cave, Aragog entering behind him.
"Ouch!" Fred exclaimed after a minutes of pure silence. "Rose that's my foot!"
"What are you talking about?" I asked the boy, who was now rubbing his foot.
"You pinched me!" He accused.
"Did not!" I defended.
"Oi!" George said. "Shut up!"
"Somethings on my foot!" Fred complained.
"Hold still!" I said. I bent down to examine Fred's foot. There was a tiny spider on his foot.
"Fred." I breathed loud enough for both to hear. "We have to get out of here."
"What? Why?" George said.
"There is a spider in your foot." I informed him, Fred's face paled.
"The girl is smart." One of the acromantula informed us. She looked to be older and bigger than the other ones. "You see, we do not eat Hagrid in respect of Aragog. But I can not deny my babies three colourful snacks."
"Stay back!" I screamed as I pulled out my wand and held in infront of me thretendly, Fred and George following behind.
"Wands only do so much, child." The acromantula informed us, I however kept my wand at the ready.
"Stay back or I will hex you!" I threatened the tribe of Acromantulas.
"Hagrid! Help!" Fred and George yelled. However, there was no response of the half-giant. In one swift motion, the spiders were jumping at us.
"Arania Exumai!" I cried as I pointed my wand at the creatures. Both twins were also firing the same hex at the spiders.
"There's to many!" Fred screamed as he hexed a spider off his shoe, again. I frantically looked around, and realized that in fact there were too many spiders for only three second years.
I let out a breath, and said "Get behind me!"
"What?" George questioned while battling the spiders.
"Are you mental?!" Fred inquiered.
"This is not the time to argue, I need you to trust me. So get me behind me for Merlin's sake!" I practically roared, both boys glanced at each other and stepped behind me.
'Come one Rose, you got this!' I said in my head. I took a deep breath and tried to concentrate.
"Er, Rose?" Fred asked. I turned to look at him, only to find a panicked expression in his freckled face. "What do we do?"
"Trust me." I said and winked at the brown eyed boy. He raised an eyebrow but I turned back to the front. The spiders were closing up on us, but I had to wait for the perfect moment...
BOOM!
Fire erupted around us like a shield, burning at least twenty of the spiders surrounded us.
"Bloody hell!" George exclaimed, the shield still surrounding us.
"When I take it down, run!" I told the boys. They both nodded.
"One! Two!" I began to count, taking another deep breath I called the last number. "Three!" The shield went down.
"RUN!" I cried. Fred grasped my hand and began to run on the opposite direction of the spiders who were hot on our heels. George was running ahead of us.
———
"What in the name of Merlin was that?!" George screeched the minute we were out of the forest.
"We should never get detention again!" Fred said loudly as he regained his breath from running.
"Never!" I agreed. The three of us eyed each other and broke out laughing. As if we would never get detention again!
"Oh Godric, i'm tired." I said once we finished laughing.
"Let's just never do that again!" George said.
"Agreed!" Fred and I called at the same time.
'Could this place get more weird?' I questioned in my head.
