Your Long Awaited College Graduation Day
Your POV

"Megan, where are you?" I whispered through the phone.

"I'm almost there," she replied.

"Megan, my name is about to be called," I said about to cry because she wasn't there. She was all I had and she wasn't there.

"I'm almost there, baby," she replied and I heard the car door close. I was next up and my name was called.

"Y/N Y/L/N," The Dean said and I faked a smile. There were a claps overall, but no cheering. I guess one of the families felt bad for me and started going off. I looked to see who it was and it was one of my favorite lab partners family. I guess we actually were friends. We talked, but not all the time. I accepted my degree and walked off the stage.

"I told you they were going to scream for you," she said as I sat back down. She pushed up her glasses smiling.

"I'll have to thank them once we're done. I really appreciated it," I said and she nodded.

"Where's Megan?" she asked and I shrugged.

"I'm sure she missed it, but she better take me to go get sushi after this," I replied and Mala giggled.

"Chile, she better," Mala replied and I laughed. Megan texted me saying she was sorry, but I just ignored it. After graduating, Megan magically found me and hugged me. I wasn't about to cause a scene in public, so I hugged back.

"I'm so proud of you, baby," she mumbled against my lips.

"Thank you," I replied.

"Y/N, can you take pictures with me?" Mala asked.

"Yeah, give me a second," I replied.

"I'll be right back," I told Megan, who nodded.

"Okay," she replied letting me go. I went and took pictures.

"Thank you so much for cheering for me," I said to Mala's family.

"Honey, you helped our baby through some hard times. She talks about you a lot, so you're practically family. We're throwing her a party this weekend and we'd love for you to come join us, so we can celebrate your success as well," her mother said almost making me cry.

"I'd love to join you all. Is it okay if my girlfriend comes?" I said gesturing over to Megan, who waved at me.

"Hell yeah. We'd love for her to come. Don't tell my wife I told you this, but she loves on your girlfriend's music. Be in the house singing all the songs. ," she said hugging me. I hugged back and smiled.

"I will get the details from Mala and thank you for cheering for me," I told her. She hugged me one last time and it was like being hugged by a grandmother. You could just feel the love. I said my goodbyes and headed over to Megan. We walked to the car and got in. I slipped off my cap and gown and put them on the back seat.

"I like this dress," Megan said to me and I quietly nodded.

"What's wrong, baby?" she asked before she even started the car.

"Nothing, can we get some sushi?" I asked her and she nodded. We went to our favorite sushi place and decided to sit in.

"You look good," I told Megan and she blushed.

"Thanks, baby," she replied leaning over to kiss me. I pecked her lips and waited for my food.

"What are we doing when we get home?" I asked her.

"I got you some gifts and I know you didn't want a party, so we're just gonna cuddle and chill."

"Okay," I answered.

"Did you want to do anything when we got home?"

"Nah," I replied looking at my phone. She looked over at me and sighed.

"Baby, I'm sorry. I didn't realize how late I was running," she said rubbing my thigh.

"It's okay, Megan," I told her. Our food arrived and I blocked out everything as I ate. Megan had a few people come up to her, but not a lot. After we ate, we went home. I took off my dress and my makeup before getting in the shower. After I showered, I got in the bed immediately.

"Baby... are you going to sleep? I wanted you to open your gifts," Megan said and I sighed.

"Can I open them later? I'm not in the mood right now," I replied.

"You sure?" she asked and I nodded turning my back towards her.

"Baby, I'm sorry. It really slipped my mind," she said and I frowned shrugging her hand off my shoulder.

"It's whatever, Megan. It doesn't matter."

"Baby."

"Megan, it doesn't matter. You missed it. Oh well," I told her.

"It does matter. You wouldn't be acting like this if it didn't."

"I come to all of your shows that are here and even fly out sometimes to see you perform. You're telling me you couldn't make to my graduation because it slipped your mind? The one thing I have ever asked you to come to? Of course I'm fucking upset about it and I would prefer if you left me alone... Never mind, I'll just go home," I told her and got out of the bed. I slipped on my slippers and grabbed my things. I called an uber and waited outside.

"Baby, come back inside. We can talk about this," she said.

"Nothing to talk about. I'm going home. I'll text you whenever I get there," I said before making sure that my Uber was the right person in the right car. He tried making conversation with me, but I barely replied. Once we got to my apartment complex, I thanked the driver and went to my apartment. Tiredly, I kicked off my shoes and threw everything on the sofa before kicking off my pants and getting in my bed.

I cried my heart out. I was so upset and just hurt that she missed the one thing I worked so hard for.

She missed it.
