Melody's pov.
"Sorry!" I whispered at my best friend Hermione running, into herbology class, five minutes before class started.
"At least you're here, Ron and Harry still haven't arrived?" She rolls her eyes reading ahead in the herbology textbook. I started putting on goggles and an apron placed on the table.
Closing her book Mione turns her eyes towards me.
"Melody, where were you? I didn't see you at breakfast this morning."
Finishing tying my apron behind my back, I answer. "I was talking to Lucy. She's just nervous about starting classes,"
"She'll be fine Mel," A smile graced my lips as I realize that Hermione was finally calling me a nickname.
Hermione knew I had a soft spot for the new Gryffindor as I told her our first meeting.
"Nice nickname...and thank you." Both of us giggled for a moment before our attention was directed towards the greenhouse doors.
Running through the doors where Ron and Harry, taking their seats right across to us. Hermione slightly scolded both boys as I waved at them, motioning towards their bed-head. The boy's faces go red before fixing their hair.
Shaking my head at their antics, I suddenly caught someone else's eyes from the other side of the greenhouse.
Two stormy gray-blue eyes stare into my brown ones.
He no longer had a look of mischief in his eyes. He no longer smirked as we noticed each other. He no longer winked at me.
I thought this wouldn't affect me but, I guess not seeing it does put things into perspective. Just because of my blood status, people won't like me.
Including, the infamous Draco Malfoy.
"Morning, everyone! Good morning, everyone!" Professor Sprout says as she walks into the class.
"Good morning, Professor Sprout!"
"Welcome to Greenhouse Three, Second Years. Now, gather round, everyone. Today, we are going to re-pot mandrakes. Who here can tell me the properties of the mandrake root?" A few kids looked around confused before Hermione raised her hand.
