So, I guess y'll really really deserve this bonus chapter. It isn't chapter 26th, but somewhere between Chap 25 and Chap 26:

[PAST TENSE SPEECH]

WARNING: A VERY SHORT CHAPTER,
but I love writing such chapters🙊

Third Person

The starry night, with its crispy wind cleaving the outer shells of those emotional robots, who go by the name Homo sapiens. The moon stares at the scrambling of humans moving from one corner to other, searching, hoping, fighting, regretting every step they take.

The car was fogged up with the mist of suspense, the humidity of thoughts and the airy mix of stress. Inaayat and Ishaan were walking treacherously on the path which would lead them to the person who was behind all the games they played or were made to play.

They didn't fail to connect dots but did their thinking pass the test it was made to give.

Inaayat had no idea of how the machinery worked-there was blood, loss of lives, dirt, lust, repugnance. Everything she was always shielded from-back in her home.

She had seen a close death but was that enough to make her strong to face the challenges she would encounter while she walked towards her goal.

Ishaan had lost his everything but he hated losing a game, a challenge. He could die but he wouldn't let the person who ruined his family's life live.

Selfishly yet unknowingly, they both walked on the same path with different objectives but strangely the same goal.

Headstrong yet fragile that is how their bond had formed, they had to respect each other but insulting was easier than the prior. They knew their crafts well, but together it was just like oil and water.

Literature and Blood only went together for Shakespeare, but for them..they were carefully, slowly, absentmindedly weaving the web of literature adding the elements of mystery, deaths, drugs, blood-fuck almost everything.

Individually they worked just fine, together it was like ice and wine-they don't go together.

The first exposure to them was the great thievery they had performed, landed in that watery mess but that wasn't a true test.

Tonight, they might surf together on the waves of threat, amidst the drunkard souls when they tried searching for the depraved.

In front of the hazy club, but with a clearer mind he looks at her, timid and scared yet too proud to confess her defeat.

"Hey, relax. Nothing will go wrong. I'll be there."

A promise he made, filled with truth covered by the uncertainty's hide. The fear haunting his mind, what if he lost, like that dreadful night.

Unknown to them, their fears hid between the loud walls. They would face those scares, they had buried long ago.

And then, there it was-the silhouette in the black who mocked and laughed at their confusion, wrapped his body in the black sheet and like the wind-escaped the frame.

He was there again, in the room as he smiled to himself, his belief didn't falter a bit. He knew everything, every single thing.

He sat there smirking, thought of the next move, plotting it, playing his chance and icily announced-

Check-Mate.

I love writing such chapters, less words but conveying a lot of things. What I hope is, I did justice to the chapter..

tell me your views, will be waiting.
