A day away

"Luke this is your mom and girlfriend," The nurse says

I uncover my eyes and look at my mom who was in front of me, then I panned over to my girlfriend. She was beautiful, but she was in a hospital bed with cuts and bruises.

"Hey Baby," I said trying to get out of my wheelchair.

"Mr. Walters slow down there, you can't walk far you just had surgery to fix your leg bone," The nurse said

"I wanna go up there," I pouted pointing up at the bed

"Honey we gotta go home, you need to rest your foot," My mom said

"Does she get to go too?" I asked pointing at Dakota

"No Lukey I have to stay here," She said quietly

" I don't wanna leave her," I reach out and grab Dakota's hand

"Luke I'll be fine," She said quietly

My mom said goodbye to Dakota and walked out of the room, the nurses started to pull me away from Dakota. She looked sad and not wanting me to let go.

"Wait can I just have five minutes?" I begged

The nurses nodded and left the room.

"Did you miss me?" I asked

"I did a lot, do you remember me now?" She asked me back laughing

I smirked "Yes I do,"

I stood up, "Luke what are you doing you can't get up?"

"I can't help it," I said hopping over to her bedside, I laid down next to her and put my head on her neck.

"Ya know I cried to the nurse about how much I love you," I admitted

She ran her fingers through my hair, "Luke you gotta go home and rest your foot, I'm getting released on Thursday and-"

"Thursday?!?" I complained

"Babe today is Tuesday, it'll be fine," She said

I kissed her and she kissed back like she hadn't seen me in years, I looked at her.

"Missed me that much huh?" I smirked

She blushed and I got up sitting back in my wheelchair just before one of the nurses came in.

"Ok, Luke your mom signed all your papers to leave,"

"Ok ma'am," I said looking at the Dakota, her eyes were glossy and she couldn't look me in the eye. I could tell she was gonna start crying,

"I love you Dak I'll text you when I get in the car," I said as the nurse started to wheel me out

"I love you too," She said with a shaky voice

Before I got out of the room I turned to see a tear running down her cheek. I pulled out my phone as I'm being wheeled down the hallway.

'Please don't cry babe ❤️' I texted

'I'm not crying' she responded

'I know you are I saw you, Sage can visit you tomorrow if you'd like and then Thursday we will be back together,'

-Dakotas POV-

I had not been alone in a very long time, I started missing Luke even before he left. There was still a while before the sun was going down. Luke and I were still texting but it wasn't the same, I was so excited to get out.

It was barely an hour after Luke left, I was extremely bored and lonely. Like usual, the nurses came in with Lunch and Dinner for me and checked out my injuries, after what felt like an eternity it started to get dark outside.
