#12 Claudette Colvin
Many give the credit 2 Rosa Parks for desegregating the buses back in the mid 50s but the truth is the first person 2 refuse moving 2 the back of the bus was 15 year old Claudette Colvin March 2 1955 the incident with Rosa Parks didn't happen til December 1 1955.
Parks commented that Colvin being pregnant as a teen would have looked bad in the court of public opinion. So she wasn't put at the forefront of the fight but in February of 1956 she was 1 of 5 included in Browder vs Gayle the case to challenge bus segregation.
There to many heroes we as a people aren't aware of and that needs to change.
