I cried when they said you'd be deployed
I cried when you left me at home sitting in your favorite chair
Night after night I rolled and tossed in the bed we used to both sleep
In country that seems to never be pleased
Either rallying behind a soldier
or screaming about how they want peace
Yet, they let their leaders bring them shame,
While one screams America the Great,
Towns people Sitting back watching the world fall to pieces
But out there is the soldier fighting a war,
they were never meet to be fighting in
The critics sing and the towns people laugh
What's so funny about people dying or in pain
You left me alone to wonder these things
Please come back to me my soldier
Please come back in one piece
