I learned it is not a competition but a race against myself
That I'm running faster and faster trying to beat my insecurities
That when I tie these laces I am my only competitor
Fighting these intrusive thoughts
Rushing, and racing
Midnights I didn't believe I could do it
Asking God am I worth it
Rushing, and racing
My thoughts alive at midnight
Tennis shoes and laces
I'm racing
Racing against me
Racing against insecurities
The only competitor I've ever needed to beat was me
