Don't blame me for shooting with the same gun

52 2 2

I've told this story before.
The story of how you were hell bent on destroying me.

That you just couldn't watch me smile or laugh joyfully.
No, I couldn't feel anything,
but pain unless you made me feel peace which was something I never found in your hands.

That your calloused hands never fought the demons away, but they sure invited them in.
You couldn't let me go.
No, you couldn't let me taste sweet freedom.
I could either love you or I could burn in hell. You smiled at my silent tears which you mistook for sadness, but it was my anger.

You thought,
oh you thought I'd break down,
but you forgot I was built for the storm. You forgot that I was the thunder and lightening and that I was in control of the rain.

I couldn't help, but want you to feel my pain, so I aimed at your heart and fired away.
You left that day along with my sanity.
You shouldn't try to control the thunder and rain, because there will always be hell to be paid.
