I put on my seatbelt, started the engine, and drove off. Unfortunately the person whose eyes I felt were following my every move seemed to think that watching me wasn't enough and decided to pursue me. During the entire ten-minute drive, I was a big ball of tension. Whoever he or she was followed me to my workplace. As there were many cars headed to the same direction as I was, it was difficult to tell which one had my pursuer. I had no concrete evidence but my intuition told me that I was being followed and I believed it.

The oppressive aura not once retreated, it followed me until I reached the open space parking lot of my company. Although I was extremely uncomfortable, I fought the urge to call Kaname and just rushed towards the entrance after getting out of the car. As soon as I was inside the twenty-storey building, I immediately relaxed. I was still shaking a bit but I managed to appear to be walking in a normal pace until I entered the lift.

"Something wrong, Hina?" a female voice asked.

I turned to my left and saw Joan. She was smiling at me shyly and the hand that was holding her bag was wound tightly around the leather handle.

She's nervous?

"It's nothing," I told her with a polite smile before wiping my sweaty forehead with my handkerchief.

I was still trying to calm my nerves when the elevator door opened on the third floor. In came two men; one was older, stout, and balding while the other one was tall, thin, and reminded me of daddy long legs. Judging by their green lanyards, they were from the advertising company that was renting the tenth floor. I moved to the side to give them space.

"I heard that the man everyone previously called Superman is currently working in a nearby gym, sir," said the tall guy as he fidgeted with the pen in his hand.

"Who told you that information?" the shorter man in the pinstriped suit asked while flipping through the documents fastened on the folder he was holding.

"It was Sabrina, sir," the subordinate replied. "Apparently she's one of her gym instructors."

Superman, Sabrina, and nearby gym? I focused my ears on the two men's conversation.

"Tell her to convince that man to be the face of our latest campaign. He ticks all the boxes, I can't think of anyone more suitable," the stout superior told Mr. Daddy Long Legs.

"I will... Try," there was apprehension in his tone. "We all know Sabrina does not like being told what to do."

"She decided to work for her father's company so she should help it flourish! That Superman guy can make our campaign successful! You've seen the video, haven't you?"

"Yes, sir. Of course."

"Then do whatever you can to make Sabrina agree! With her face, talent, and ability to persuade others, she can do and have whatever she wants if she puts her mind into it. She has the tongue of a sales person, that guy will definitely say yes if she asks."

"But she works on her own terms..."

"He's the one I want. He has to be the face of our newest project! He steered clear from the attention the media and public was giving him and not once did he step out to use it as a form of self-promotion. I believe that this proves that he helped that woman out of the goodness of his heart, which is very rare these days," the old man said, not caring about what his subordinate just said.

"But the woman he saved claimed that his wife was controlling him."

"Boy, you are still clueless as ever! I took you under my wings and have been teaching you all that I know for three years now, how can you still have poor judgment? That woman was obviously disappointed that Superman was ignoring her. Didn't you see how pleased she was from all the attention she was getting? She wanted it to last, I tell you! Her eyes reflected her hunger for fame and power! Unluckily for her the man had no intention of feeding her desire and ignored her!" the old man roared.

Although I was taken aback by his words and the passion behind them, I felt a strong urge to shake this stout man's hand. He was so spot on with his analysis of that woman. I was glad an outsider saw through her like we did.

"I shall talk to Sabrina when she arrives from her press junket at Shangri-la," the subordinate acquiesce.

"Good."

We reached the tenth floor and the both of them stepped out of the lift. Now that they were gone, I noticed that Joan was eyeing me with interest. A quick glance at her told me that she was curious and wanted to know what my thoughts were on what we just heard. I didn't say anything and just kept quiet. The things those men discussed openly effectively kept my mind off what happened earlier.

My workload wasn't as heavy as the previous day. Around half past eleven, I received a text from Kaname asking me if we could have lunch together. In response, I decided to call him.

"Hello," he answered on the second ring.

"I'm down for a lunch date. What do you want to eat?" I asked.

"You."

"Silly!" I laughed then thought for a bit. "Hmm... I'm thinking ramen or maybe chicken katsu curry. Ooh, that reminds me! You have to try Japanese curry! I know just the place!"

"But I want a naked Hina with her luscious hair tumbling down her back," his low voice almost sounded like a sexy growl.

I don't know if it's because of his words or the seductive timbre of his voice but I could tell that my face was turning beet red.

"Be serious, please!" I hissed at him when I recovered.

"I am serious."

Damn it. He sounded like it, too.

I took a deep breath and repeated rather dully, "What do you want for lunch, anata?" I gave emphasis on the word 'lunch'.

"Oh, I didn't know you were talking about lunch," he said innocently.

"You asked me if we could have lunch together, didn't you?" I reminded him in annoyance.

He chuckled. "I bet your face is red and your heart is pounding right now," he continued to tease.

"I'm ending this call," I sounded as annoyed as I felt. I was so tempted to tap the red circle on my phone screen when I heard him laugh.

"Hina, why are you so annoyed?" the bastard sounded so amused I'd have pinched him if I could. "It's perfectly normal for me to always want you."

"Kaname, we're talking about food. I'm not food, okay?"

"But you're the most delicious thing I've ever tasted..."

"That's it, have fun eating on your own. Goodbye!" I wasted not a second more and ended the call.

When he called me back, I ignored my phone's incessant ringing. He called me twice, thrice, but I didn't pick up. He finally stopped after his fifth attempt. I was not feeling sorry for the libidinous bastard. I mean, I'm happy to be the only focus of his desire and that he was only fooling around but sometimes he needs to tone it down a little! Had I not spent almost five years with him, I'd have thought that he thinks with his manhood and not with his brain!

At exactly twelve noon Anne barged into my office without knocking. I was in the process of sipping my tea when the door suddenly opened, the suddenness caught me off guard I spilled some of my tea and almost dropped my cup.

"What the hell?" I was still feeling pissed off so I couldn't filter my words in time.

"Miss, why didn't you tell me you knew him all along??" Anne asked, hurt colored her face and tone.

"Who?" I asked back confusedly.

"The man everyone is calling Superman!" she looked so betrayed, her cheeks were so puffed up she resembled Jigglypuff.

When I didn't say anything, her frown deepened.

"I just got a call from front desk. He's asking for his wife." she announced. "He said he's picking her up for lunch."

I immediately stood up. "His w-wife?" I stammered.

"Yes," Anne's eyes narrowed at my flustered expression. "And apparently, his wife's name is the same as yours, Miss."

"Ugh," I rubbed my forehead, I suddenly had a headache. "I'm going out for lunch. I'll be back in an hour."

"But, Miss..."

"Anne, let's talk about this some other time."

I grabbed my bag, pocketed my phone, and rushed to the elevators. Everyone's eyes were on me as I made my way out. News really spread fast, making me frown. I made a mental note to talk to Human Resources about our front desk personnel.

Kaname sat at one of the leather chairs in the waiting lounge. He's changed out of his gym clothes and was now wearing jeans and a polo shirt. His long hair was now in a half ponytail, I heaved a silent sigh of relief when I saw that it covered the hickey I gave him earlier. He must have sensed me approaching because he suddenly looked up from the financial magazine he was reading. He immediately smiled, stood up, and strode over to meet me.

"My love," he murmured before pulling me by the waist and giving me a chaste kiss on the lips.

It was a quick kiss but my eyes automatically closed. When I opened them, I noticed that his were communicating his silent apology for earlier. I shook my head before wiping the lipstick stain on his lips, it was no use staying annoyed with him.

"Let's go. I'm hungry," I said as our fingers interlocked.
