66 - Water - Door

I watched painfully how Arthos accepted his upcoming death. Hindi ito ang inaasahan ko na magiging reaction niya. Matagal ko nang kilala si Arthos. Ilang libong taon na din kami magkasama at malayo sa vocabulary niya ang salitang humility at unselfishness. But now, the god of fire, who is a certified asshole, is now willing to face his demise.

"Ang mga Renegade gods din ba ang may gawa ng catastrophe sa mundo ng tao?" tanong ko kay Zarkus.

Tumango lang si Zarkus sa akin. The substantial number of deaths in the World of the Living is possibly a distraction to conceal the presence of the Renegade gods in the Underworld. Hindi na rin ako magtataka kung kasabwat din si Zaleo sa mga kaguluhan na naganap.

"What will happen to them? Are they going to completely vanish once they enter that door?" tanong ko uli kay Zarkus.

"The door in Paradiso is rarely used as there are only a handful of immortals who actually died. I am not certain as to what will happen to them."

"So my father just sent us here to witness the death of our friends?" tanong ni Chaz kay Zarkus.

"There is a profound reason why the four of you are here."

Bakit ba kami nandito sa Underworld? Our initial plan is to use the Underworld Passage to the World of the Living para iligtas sila Arthos.

Did the Reaper Prince made up some bullshit para makausap namin si Zarkus? Did Zeon manipulated us to be in this Underworld journey?

Bago ko pa maisip ang dahilan kung bakit kami nandito ay lumitaw ang isang lalaking naka-white suit. He looks muscular despite of his age. His eyes are softly glowing like he is full of wisdom.

"Father, what are you doing here?" nagtataka na tanong ni Chaz.

Father? So this handsome man is the god of light, Zeon?

Bigla din lumitaw sa harapan namin ang ama ni Shawn na si Saturnino Castelo, ang Reaper King. Kasama niya ang isang middle-age na babae na may golden hair. She looks dangerously beautiful in her dark blue gown. Parang isang delicate poisonous flower. She reminds me of the beautiful actress Charlize Theron. This is probably the Primordial goddess of sky, Zeraphyr.

Huling lumitaw ang isang babae na nakasuot ng silver gown. She has a long black hair na umaabot hanggang sahig. A fierce-looking Angelina Jolie look-alike Primordial god. It seems that her eyes can easily pierce you or freeze you in an instant. This is definitely the Primordial goddess of time, Zahara.

If the god of darkness Zarkus reminds me of a veteran Hollywood actor named Al Pacino, the god of light Zeon reminds me of Liam Neeson. The Reaper King looks identical to a young version of Robert De Niro.

Napansin ko na lahat sila ay may sparkling aura. Para tuloy akong na starstruck sa mga mala-artistang nilalang na nasa harapan ko. Kulang na lang ang red carpet, para na akong nasa isang premier night ng isang blockbuster movie na ensemble ang cast.

Pagtingin ko kay Chaz, mukhang kilala niya ang mga celebrity-looking people na nasa harapan namin. Kahit si Mackenzie ay mukhang may idea sa mga guests na nandito. Kami lang ata ni Aristraeus ang naguguluhan sa mga pangyayari.

"Are we going to take their place? Is that the reason why all the Primordial gods are assembled here?" tanong ni Chaz sa kanilang lahat.

"That is partly right, my child. But the supreme purpose of this gathering here in the Underworld is because the Primordial god of darkness is too lazy to move his ass out of his kingdom," seryoso na sabi ni Zeon.

"I loathe the Old City, Zeon. I rather be the anti-social Primordial god than to mingle with other immortals. Social gathering is not my thing," nakangiti na sagot ni Zarkus.

"Not your thing? Hey dickhead, you have fucking responsibility to visit the Old City."

"Asshole, you may be my fucking brother, but you are not permitted to use any fucking profane words in my motherfucking territory. I will not tolerate such fuck-up words here," sabi ni Zarkus.

"My apologies, cocksucker. I will ensure that my lips will not utter such obscenities while I am in your shitty kingdom," sagot ni Zeon at sabay silang tumawa ni Zarkus ng malakas na parang sila lang ang nagkakaintindihan sa joke nila.

The other three Primordial gods remained expressionless, pero si Zarkus at si Zeon ay mukhang enjoy na enjoy sa kalokohan nila.

"Please forgive them. The Primordial god of light and Primordial god of darkness are both fond of earthly expletives. They are both ancient, and yet shallow beings," mahinahon na sabi ng babaeng may golden hair.

Habang napupuno ng halakhak ni Zeon at ni Zarkus ang buong throne room, nagsimulang magpaliwanag ang Reaper King na si Zauis. Apparently, Aristraeus and Artemisia will be the new elemental gods of earth and wind, samantalang kami ni Chaz ang magiging bagong elemental gods ng fire and water. The Primordial gods are here to finalize the transfer of responsibility to us.

Napansin ko na dahan dahan na pumapasok si Arthos sa pintuan habang hawak ang kamay ni Camilla. Kahit si Aliya at si Shawn ay mukhang tinanggap ng maluwag ang kanilang magiging kamatayan.

Niyakap ako ni Chaz at hindi ko mapigilan ang maiyak dahil ito na ang huling beses na makikita ko si Arthos at Aliya. Hindi ko man lang sila nakausap ng huling sandali.

Ang huling sandali ko na kapiling sila ay sa harapan pa ng screen courtesy ng magical floor ni Zarkus...
