59 - Wind - Well

Pagkatapos ng ilang minuto na katahimikan, Arthos finally decided to go to the Algerian Desert. Sa pagkakaalam ko, there is also a portal somewhere in Algeria that is directly connected to a place called The Void.

"Ang ibig mo ba sabihin na ang The Void ay parang secret part ng Underworld kung saan nakakulong ang mga ancient super villain?" tanong ni Camilla kay Arthos habang nasa isang maliit na plane kami sa gitna ng Algerian desert.

"We don't know much about this place called The Void. Ang bawat immortal gods ay may kanya kanyang responsibility. The Void is least of our concerns unless those fucktards Renegade gods will use our souls to open the doorway to that shithole."

If these Renegade gods are feeding on the wickedness of this world, mas malakas na siguro sila ngayon kumpara noong panahon ng mga unang elemental gods. Now that we are almost human, this is the perfect time to execute their attack.

"Jaimeel malapit na ba tayo?" tanong ko sa servant ni Arthos na siyang nagpi-pilot ng plane.

"Puro buhangin! Puro buhangin! Mag-swim tayo sa Sea of Sand! Sea of Sand!" sabi ng parrot ko na si Mr. Grey.

"Kanina pa tayo paikot ikot dito sa disyerto. Wala ba man lang clue kung saan banda ang sinasabi nilang gateway papunta sa Underworld?"

"I don't know, Aliya. Only you and Arthos can see the entrance to the Underworld."

"Wala naman kahit anong structures dito. Tama si Mr. Grey, puro buhangin---"

Napatigil ako nang makita ko isang patch ng grassland sa gitna ng desert. Parang isang oasis na may mga Palm trees at may maliit na pond sa gitna.

"Arthos, look to your right. Are you seeing what I am seeing?" tanong ko sa kanya.

Tumango lang si Arthos sa akin. Kahit si Shawn at si Camilla ay mukhang nakikita ang oasis sa gitna ng desert, pero hindi ito nakikita ni Jaimeel at ni Mr. Gray.

Jaimeel lowered down the plane near thr oasis. Nang medyo malapit na kami, binuksan ni Arthos ang pinto ng plane at tumalon kaming apat. Bumagsak at gumulong kami sa buhangin.

Napansin ko na may isang balon sa gitna ng pond. It looks out of place and I have a feeling that this will serve as our portal to the Underworld. Pinuntahan naming apat ang balon at mukhang pang karaniwan lang ito. Isang makalumang deep well. Sa sobrang luma, ang tubig ay kulay itim na.

"Let us have a vote. Who wants to jump in this primitive-looking water hole?" tanong ni Arthos sa amin, pero walang nagtaas ng kamay kundi si shawn.

"What? Wala naman siguro si Sadako diyan," sagot ni Shawn na sinisilip ang balon.

"I am with him," dagdag ni Camilla na mukhang pinag-aaralan din kung paano tatalon sa balon.

"Can we at least discuss this first? Nakakita lang kayo ng balon sa gitna ng kawalan, gusto niyo na agad tumalon?" tanong ni Arthos na mukhang hesistant sa plano ni Camilla at ni Shawn.

"Come on, Blaze. Takot ka ba?"

"Camilla, what if there are magical evil creatures in there? A fucking huge piranha? Or a slimy octopus from the pits of hell?"

"You're such a pussy, Blaze. Hindi kita nakilala na ganyan. You're a god tapos takot ka sa octopus?"

"Camilla, I only have limited powers now and I don't want to waste it fighting a slithery sea creature."

"Let's go, Shawn. Umurong ata ang buntot ng god of fire," nakangiti na sabi ni Camilla na biglang umakyat sa balon at tumalon sa loob.

Shawn followed her with no hesitations. Pagbagsak nila sa tubig, biglang nag-glow ang well. It seems that both of them is right. This well is a portal to the Underworld. Naiwan kami ni Arthos na puno ng gulat dahil sa biglaan na pagtalon nilang dalawa.

"I guess magkapatid nga silang dalawa. Both hard-headed as fuck," sabi ni Arthos na umakyat ng balon at inalalayan din akong umakyat.

"Arthos, paano kung destined pala tayong mamatay?" seryoso kong tanong sa kanya habang nakatingin kami sa madilim na tubig ng balon.

"So be it. Death is the only constant thing in this world, just like taxes."

"I am serious, Arthos! Nasa prophecy ni Penman na dalawang elemental gods ang nakatadhana na masawi."

"As long as my soul will be reaped by Zade or the Reaper king, I am fine. I just don't want to be an instrument to create a crevice in The Void."

"You look happy kahit pwede tayo mamatay anytime. Dahil ba kay Camilla?"

"Camilla fills a certain emptiness in me that I never felt for thousands of years. I should be thankful to the Creator that I met her and He gave me a chance to know what love is. Kahit sa maikling panahon. Kahit sa hiram na sandali."

"Don't die on me, Shakespeare. Malay mo. We also deserve a happy ending just like Aristraeus and Arcella."

Hinawakan ni Arthos ang kamay ko at sabay kami tumalon sa balon. The moment our bodies touched the murky water, biglang nagliwanag ang buong paligid.
