Chapter Forty Seven: Home

Daisy

***

'Home'

My wolf purred in content as we sat next to Cade in the car, The muisc down low, his hand holding mine, his thumb lightly playing with the engagment ring that now sat on my left ring finger as he drove.

I looked over at him lovingly, He was so handsome and loving...I will never understand how fortunate I was to have had him walk into my life, but I will forever be gratful for having a man like him love me as much as he does.

'Our Cade.'

I smiled in agreement

He turned to look at me as if my wolf had spoken to him personally.

He smiled and lifted my hand up to his mouth to place a tender kiss on my knuckles.

"How is it possible to be so completely in love with someone like I'm in love with you?" I asked him.

He shook his head and sighed, "I don't know my Flower, but I hope your love for me never fades or I just might die of heartbreak."

"Never." I assured him, "We're gonna be old and gray and I'm still going to be annoying you while you cook us breakfas or put my cold feet on your legs when we're in bed."

He smiled. "...you promise?"

I nodded.

"You should put that in your wedding vows."

I rolled my eyes and smiled but it made me think of the wedding. "...How about a year?" I asked

"A year what My Flower?"

"A small intimate wedding next year...same date and everything so neither of us can forget our anniversary."

"Same date as in today?"

"No...the day you came to Sunderland and stole my heart, back when you were just a scruffy viking barbarian Alpha who proved to me there were decent guys out there who could love me despite all of my flaws."

"You are flawless." He protested sweetly and kissed my hand once again. "Alright so we have a date, and small and intimate affair..so family only...for me that means Blithe."

"And for me that means my parents, my sister and her husband, and my brother and his wife...that's only seven people...ten if you include us and the officiant."

He smirked. "You said small."

I nodded, "Well then...this is going to be easier than I thought...any thoughts on wedding colors or cake flavors?"

He wrinkled his nose and shook his head, "I'm good with whatever, just tell me where to go and when to meet you and i'll be right there waiting to become our husband."

I looked at him and my wolf and I were more than blissfully happy than ever before. I turned to look out my window, and as I watched the beautiful scenery go by I suddenly remembered the real reason I had to come back...I have to reject a man who came so close to ruining everything for me a second time.

I didn't know what I would say to him.

All those years wasted trying to figure out who he was and why he did it...and now I know, and I hated him more than ever because if it.

I also didn't know how Blithe would react to seeing me.

"What's wrong?" Cade asked as we seemed to be pulling onto his pack lands.

I shook my head, "not exactly thrilled to have to face the guy who rejected me and almost ruined something special."

He sighed and looked over at me, he pulled his car off the road and killed the engine.

"Cade...-"

"Daisy...I won't go any further without first apologizing to you personally...I'm sorry."

I honestly didn't know what he was apologizing for as I didn't really blame him. "I thought we got all the apologies out of the way Love?"

"I'm sorry for not listening to you and worse not trusting you...Like you just said, I almost let some asshole ruin something special with a girl who who means so much to me."

"Who is this girl...I'll kick her ass." I teased, I hated that he was being so hard on himself.

He smirked and reached over to caress my face. "It will always be you my flower, you're all I want Daisy and I'm not going to let anyone take that away from me ever again."

"Can we put off everything else until tomorrow...I just want to spend the rest of the day with you, no rejected mates or family members...just us."

He smiled and leaned over to kiss me, "of course my flower."

He started his car once again and I honestly felt a sense of relief as we passed the pack house and made our way through the city.

My wolf seemed to awaken with excitement upon seeing the familiar scenery and I too smiled, this is going to be our home now.

We grabbed a late lunch and walked around the city for a little but we both knew we only wanted to get back to the house. So knowing that the city would still be there when we decided to take another stroll around town, we got back into the car and left.

It didn't take long for Cade to pull up to his house and I was more than happy to be back here, especially after I thought I would never see this place again. I didn't wait for Cade to open the door for me, as I hopped out of the car.

I could see Cade's own jubilant smile as he watched me excitedly begin to make my way up to the house. When he joined my side he kissed me, "I love seeing you happy Daisy."

I smiled, "will you open the door so I can finally feel like I'm home for good."

He kissed me once more before he finally unlocked the door.

"Welcome home my flower."

I walked inside with a huge smile on full display, I stood off to the side as I watched him put his keys onto the side table. I stepped out of my heels and left them next to the side table.

Cade looked down at my shoes on the floor and smiled, "I've missed this...I've missed you."
