Chapter Twelve: Not a Date

After I got back to the hotel room I felt a little stir crazy so I decided to ring up my Beta and see how everything back home was going.

"Alpha." He answered.

"Ieston, How's my pack?"

"Still in one piece" He chuckled..."How're you settling in over in Sunderland?"

I looked out the window and could see the pack house in the distance, I knew Daisy would be home by now, I couldn't help but wonder if she had a good time this afternoon?

"I'm settled." I replied vaguely, "Alpha Hugo has welcomed me and extended his pack house to me...I declined, as you know I value my privacy...he mentioned it was a open-range pack so I may need to get a run in sometime today since he's also invited me to dinner."

"Dining with him or his family?"

"Family...well daughter and Luna really, the other two aren't in the house." I replied.

"Sounds about right, anyways today I had the men run patrols, and Blithe and I are going to sit in on pack council this evening to hear pack problems...oh, hold on your cousin wants to talk to you."

I smiled and rolled my eyes, "Hello Blithe."

"Cade....did you meet her?" She asked excitedly, I could hear a small echo and knew Ieston had put me on speaker phone so she could talk to me.

"I did, she is the person who answered the door for me when I arrived."

"Aaaand what did you think?" She pushed for more.

"She looked like the kind of girl who would easily fit in at Southtown." I said of her upscale style.

"Then it's a good thing that's where your house is."

"Blithe." I sighed.

"I'm just saying...anyways, what did you do today?"

I knew she'd make a huge deal if I told her I spent my afternoon with Daisy so I kept my answers vague. "I checked into my room, took in their town, grabbed lunch, came back to the room...might get a run in before I head over to the pack house for dinner with the Brooks'...probably linger about the town after dinner."

"Well no pressure or anything but remember you're there for an alliance." Ieston spoke up.

"And our pack needs a Luna." Blithe added.

"Yeah no pressure."

"Take some wine for dinner, don't you dare show up empty handed." Blithe demanded.

"Anything else Blithe?"

"A shower and suit would be nice...don't want them to think you're just some lumberjack of a man...show them the CEO Alpha of Ironsmith...also a shave wouldn't kill you."

I rolled my eyes, she was always trying to get me to shave."These people don't know I run a company, only that I run a pack." I pointed out.

"Well if you plan on making this girl your Luna, you may want to start telling her about yourself." Blithe added.

We said our goodbyes and I went for a run like I said I would.

The breeze held a slight frdgid air to it and blew through my fur, I looked down at my dark paws and couldn't help but wonder what Daisy's wolf really looked like in person.

She had told me she was brown and blonde...no surpise as she herself is blonde. But was she small, did she the same blue eyes or did they change color like my wolf. I myself am blonde with blue eyes, but my wolf is damn near black of fur and eyes that match.
