"First up, we have the local ice prince with surprising fire powers, Shouto Todoroki!", Present Mic introduced as Shouto came on the stage.
He was looking down in regret sith trembling hands as he clenched his fists. I have to make sure I don't hurt anyone that severely this time...
"He will be fighting the Strengthened Speedster, Izuku Midoriya!"
Izuku came up the stage with a determined expression. He met the heterochromatic teen's gaze. I will save you, Shouto. You don't have to be afraid of yourself.
"And the battle starts...now!"
Immediately after Present Mic said that, Shouto formed ice under his foot and sent it spreading towards Izuku.
Izuku got in a boxer’s stance as he channeled his power. I should hit the weak points of the ice in order to shatter it effectively.
When the ice came at a close enough range, Izuku did a heavy right swing. "Smash!"
He shattered the ice, punching it in a direction so that he sent chunks of it back towards Shouto. The heterochromatic teen created a wall of ice in front of him, blocking the chunks of ice that were coming back to him.
Because of this, both the wall of ice and the chunks of ice shattered upon contact of one another.
Without stopping, Izuku aimed his arm and fingers at him. "Delaware Smash 10%!"
A strong force of wind was sent in Shouto's direction and he barely created another wall of ice on time in order to defend himself.
Upon impact, the ice shattered and the force of the attack pushed him back a few yards until he created some pillars of ice behind himself to stop the force.
The greenette dashed towards him with his hands clenched into fists. In retaliation, Shouto sent another wave of ice at Izuku, who in response performed a wide left hook swing, smashing the ice and removing it out of his way.
All of a sudden, Shouto unleashed a bigger wave of ice towards Izuku and rushed at the greenette.
In turn, Izuku pulled back his right arm again and invested 15% of his power this time, stressing his arm out a little. More force was created as the ice shattered and got launched all over the place.
At the audience podiums, Tsuyu hummed. "Izuku's getting closer and closer, ribbit."
"Yeah", Momo worriedly nodded. "At this rate, Shouto will end up getting forced out of the arena."
"So, Izuku is overpowering Shouto?", Mina asked. "Shocker."
"That's not entirely correct", Ochako defended. "Due to the hardness and coldness of the ice, if Izuku keeps punching it, then he could either stress out his hands or make them numb from the cold."
The whole class looked at her. Wow, that's a deep observation right there.
Apparently, Shouto already saw that fact, so he formed ice underneath himself and lifted off the ground, trying to slide himself to the other side of the arena to make space between himself and Izuku.
Izuku saw him do this and reacted by pointing his arm and fingers at him, aiming as the heterochromatic teen slid.
Timing the shot, Izuku flicked his finger and shot another force of wind. Shouto grunted and formed more ice to lift himself up and somersaulted in the air to avoid getting hit by the air force.
The greenette's attack shattered the ice underneath Shouto with the added force sending him forward in the air. The heterochromatic tumbled along the ground but managed to recover and get back up.
