Chapter Twenty Three

"Mommy look. I drew a picture for you" Gabby cheered running over to showing it. I instantly put my book down looking at it smiling. I kissed her head taking the picture. "Aww thank you baby, I'm going to put it on the fridge" She smiled giggling excitedly as I got up heading to the kitchen.

"Can I have some chips?" She asked and I nodded putting the picture on the fridge then getting her chips. Before I could even give the bowl of chips to her, she heard the front door open and froze looking behind her.

"I'm here" Harry called out and she instantly took off into the living screaming in excitement. I just shook my head smiling and following her into the living room. "Daddy" she cheered jumping before he scooped her up giving her kisses.

I placed the bowl on the table and before could even move, he grabbed my arm pulling me to him. I looked at him a bit taken back as he smirked looking down at me. I giggled as he pressed his lips to mine.

Once he let me go I took a few steps back looking down. This definitely had to take some time to get used to. He was just being so open about it and he didn't hesitate even in public.

"How was dance?" he asked as he sat down on the couch and I follow sitting next to him with some space between us but not too much. "Good" Gabby said and I nodded smiling. "Her recital is in two months" I added making him smile looking down at Gabby.

"Are you going to come?" she asked and he looked as if he was offended. "Of course I am. You'll hear me screaming 'That's my princess' and probably get escorted out from security" he simply stated kissing her head as she giggled.

I laughed shaking my head knowing it was true, that was me the first recital I went to. So many complaints from annoyed parents.

Gabby got off his lap quickly running "I'm drawing you a picture" she giggled getting back on the floor with her papers and crayons. I laughed shaking my head looking over at Harry holding my book smiling.

"How's the book?" He whispered and I shrugged "Good but, I don't want it to end. I'm on the last chapter" I frowned making him laugh passing it to me. I whispered a low thank you taking it out of his hand looking at it. I hope the author comes out with another story, her work is honestly amazing.

Until then, I need to find another book.

I still felt his eyes on me as I looked through the book and silence every once in a while looking over to Gabby in her own world drawing. It was kind of making me self-conscious and making me hesitate in everything I did even if it was just looking at the book.

After a while, I just decided to look over to see him looking directly into my eyes.

I couldn't help but smile looking away, he was killing me.

"So..." "So..." I trailed off looking at him as he moved closer to smiling. He leaned down to my ear making me freeze a bit as he touched my thigh "Are we going to act like nothing happened?" He whispered in my ear then pulled away as I smiled looking down. I know exactly what he was talking about and I had to admit I kind of wondered the same thing.

"No we don't have to but..." I just shrugged not sure how to react to it. That didn't really make him happy though. His face went straight. I honestly didn't want to make it a big deal, why couldn't we just let things flow naturally?

"Really Ren?" He asked and I looked at him confused "What?" I asked making him sigh looking at Gabby then back to me.
