A/N: I was listening to Halsey's speech at the women's March in NYC. I was inspired by her bravery, her honesty, her vulnerability and the strength it must have taken her to to do speech which is so personal. Her story is a story of many.

I have mine too, I have written about it before but as soon as I shared it I felt it was too personal and that maybe I was over-sharing. My story isn't like everyone else's although everyone has their own 'worst' scenario.

My story took place 6 years ago, involving a family friend. I don't think it happened for long but it shouldn't have EVER happened!

TRIGGER WARNING: Assault/ Harassment.

It's 2012 , we sat on the sofa
Me in front of my mother's
Computer while he sits next
To me, caramel hands snake
Beneath my pyjama top to
My chest, I couldn't let his
Hands wander over my body
I had no choice as his hands
Remained there, on my skin
Even after raising my voice
Saying "Stop." He pressed on
Harder on my breast, all that
I wanted was to rest. This did
Not take place just once, it had
Happened multiple times and
Never did I win, I had to stay
Silent, I told my mother every
Time I came into contact with
His touch, I let it swarm in my
Mind until the thought of it had
Become almost too much. Mother
Promised me she'll speak to him
As it happens in so many cases
He denied the truth, refusing to
Stop his actions.
