You can build your walls
Use all the fake tan in the
World, laugh in the face
Of your people, share your
Badly thought out opinions
But you have no authority
To drown out screams from
Desperate, willing citizens
Who will not bend their
Principles, lessons learned
To fit in a circle of followers
Guided by a misogynistic
Sexist, homophobic man
The damage has been done
In the space of a year after
A tragic vote for the man
To make his country great
Again! History is guilded
In the hands of those who
Make it, not those who
Push it up to the surface
That one day will be written
Down on boards, neatly typed
In pretty looking textbooks
Taught at schools full of
Kids, dreaming to be who
They want, looking up to
Legends, good or bad
Mistaking one right
Step for a million
Steps ahead.
