"He will come around, just has to blow off some steam. That was your best friend at one point, so I think he obviously was a great guy and he seemed to adore her the day he met her. Just give him time to accept it Ryn" she whispered sipping her drink then taking her jacket off getting comfortable.
"She asked if he was coming back over earlier" she froze for a second looking over at her then me shrugging. "It will work out. Time is essential and you don't have to walk around with this secret overwhelming you" she smiled leaving me there thinking.
Maybe she was right, I just had to wait and see how it would play out. One thing I agreed on was, I didn't have to walk around with this secret anymore. The most important person I knew, the only person I was afraid of telling knows now.

"Boy, you belong to me, I got the recipe. And it's called black magic" Gabby sung dancing around the living room as Little Mix played on the tv. I had no complaints, she was wearing herself out. I give her another hour before she's passed out on the couch.
I sat on the couch reading Captivated By You and looking back up to her time from time seeing her in her own little world. Typical Friday night.
Suddenly I heard the doorbell ring making me get up confused on who it could be. No one that would just pop up, only one who did was Bonnie and she was already in bed. Lexi kept her up all night with a fever.
I folded the page closing the book and headed to the door in confusion till I peaked through the window in the door. I froze staring into his green eyes for a seconds before taking a deep breath and preparing myself.
Maybe he was here to finish cursing me out, I could tell he was holding himself back that day. Maybe he was here to see her...
That's all I could think of before he knocked on the door again sounding impatient. I opened the door stepping out instantly not meeting his eyes. I needed to know what exactly he was here for. If it was to argue or scream because he was upset, he would have to do it another time. I didn't want Gabby to see anything.
But, if he was here to see her, I wouldn't fight it.
"Look if you want to see her, I'm fine with it but I don't want any arguing right now" I whispered still not looking at him at first. He took a deep breath standing there for a few seconds in silence.
"I just want to see her" he whispered lowly as I looked up into his eyes on mine. They were still hard and I knew he was only here for her. I would take it. At least he wanted to see her. I nodded moving to the side to let him in the house as I stayed in silence following him to the living room.
Gabby was still dancing till she turned seeing Harry. She smiled hard running over to him. He laughed crouching down to hug her tightly before picking her up. "How are you?" "Good" she giggled before wiggling out of his hold grabbing his hand.
"Come dance with me" she exclaimed pulling him as hard as she could and he just shrugged laughing. "Ohh..okay" he said letting her pulling him to the open space in the living room as Hard Times by Paramore came on.
I didn't just want to act as if I was watching them so, I went into the kitchen looking for what to cook for dinner. I couldn't help but smile hearing her laugh filled the house. It warmed my heart already knowing she liked him and he was here.
I'm happy she's happy. He was here and wanted to see her, his daughter. She won't just have me now, she'll have him. Right?
Harry isn't a bad person, he was my best friend at one time before all of this. Before I messed us up then made it worse.
"Lauryn" I jumped pulling away from the fridge to see him at the entrance watching me. I swallowed looking at him "Has she eaten yet?" He asked and I shook my head "No, not yet. Was going to make her something but, you can take her out if you want" I quickly said and he nodded looking down.
"She wanted to get some ice cream but if she hasn't ate, I can get her something to eat" he offered and I nodded smiling. I had some leftovers I could eat, she can get something with him.
"Okay, her favorite is pizza" I smiled and he nodded "Pizza it is" he whispered simply and walked out leaving me there not sure what was going on. I took a deep breath and quickly followed behind him.
"Harry" I called out seeing him freeze mid-step and take a deep breath turning to face. I could see he wanted nothing to do with me and was trying to keep his composure with Gabby in the next room.
"Umm... if you want to have her some days, that's fine. Just let me know" I whispered. I know it wouldn't change anything but, I just wanted this to work. I wanted this to just work out smoothly between us for Gabby's sake. But I will admit, I did miss the short-lived friendship we had.
"She has dance Saturday mornings so, afternoon or even on Sunday is fine" I whispered not keeping eye contact with him. The look he was giving me was pretty intimidating. More of a get to the fucking point kind of look.
He just nodded "Saturday afternoon is fine" he whispered leaving me in the hallway silent.
