Austin looked up as I walked into his hospital room. I shut the door behind me so no nosy nurses could spread gossip through the hospitals. I've seen those shows; gossip is like cocaine in a hospital.
"Alli-" I held up a hand to stop Austin.
"No, Austin. I need to talk," I walked over to his bedside and dragged a chair over so I could sit down and get off my feet, "I'm sorry."
"What?" Austin was caught off-guard. It's not often that I say sorry.
"I'm sorry. I overreacted. I shouldn't have yelled at you then stormed out. It's not your fault your heart decided to quit doing it's job," I rambled.
"Alli," Austin reached down and grasped my hand in his, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been acting like it wasn't a big deal. You have a valid point; I died. Like no heartbeat, not breathing dead, and it scared you guys. I should be the own apologizing for my weak heart. Don't hate me."
"Austin," I just stood up and hugged him, "I could never hate you."
"Forgive me for being a jerk?" he asked.
"Only if you forgive me for being a bitch," I said pushing away.
"Deal," he chuckled.
"I know I just got here, but I have to go," I apologized, "I told the boys I'd stop by on my way home. They said that they've got a surprise for me."
"I don't wanna keep you waiting," he said.
"Thanks Austin," I squeezed him once more, "I'll come back and visit you tomorrow and bring you all your school stuff."
"Thanks Alli, now go," he ordered. I flashed him a smile before I walked out of the room. I grabbed my keys hanging from the lanyard around my neck and prepared myself to get bombarded by the paps. As I walked out, I went to shield my face, but to my surprise, there were no photographers outside the hospital. Thankful, I climbed into my SUV and pulled out of the parking garage for visitors.
At a red light I grabbed my phone from where I had placed it in the cup holder when I got in the car and sent a quick text to the boys.
On my way over now. Any clues on my surprise? - me
Nope - Hazza
You aren't that special - BooBear
You have to wait until you get here - Nialler
Sighing in frustration, I placed my phone back where it was and continued my silent drive. Silent until my phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey," Cameron's voice came through the phone, "have you been to see Austin today?"
"Yeah, I just went to visit him. Why?" My stomach dropped to my knees. Did something happen as I left? Oh my god, he's having another heart attack and I'm not there!
"No reason, he called me a while ago asking if I could convince you to go visit him," Cameron's words calmed my beating heart.
"Oh, ok. Yeah, I literally just left," I told Cameron.
"Ok, I'm gonna head over now," he said.
"I'm going to Niall's. I should be home later tonight if I don't go over to Justin's," I said to Cameron.
"Ok, I'll let your dad know. Bye Alli," he said.
"Bye Cam," I hung up just as I pulled into the boy's humongous driveway. The paps were out by the gate snapping pictures of me as I drove in, but I ignored them. I've been making front page everyday for a long time now and it's getting kinda old. Climbing out of my car, I waved to Harry who was waiting for my on the porch. He was leaning against a wooden pole with his large hands shoved into his pockets and a blue beanie covering his brown curls.
"Hey," I said climbing up the steps.
"Hey," he said. We entered the house and to my surprise it was moderately clean for housing five boys.
"Alli!" I heard Louis yell. A pair of feet hit the floorboards upstairs and soon Louis was flying down the stairs, practically tackling me into a bear hug.
"Hi BooBear," I said squeezing him. Louis and I had always had a very touchy relationship - more than I have than with the other guys.
"Where's my surprise?" I asked Harry.
"Is that the only reason you come to visit now?" Liam walked in from the kitchen.
"No, but both you and Zayn told me to come over so I did. I figured it had to be important if Zayn texted me about it," I pointed out.
"Hey!" a protest came from the living room. I stuck my head in and saw Zayn sprawled out on the couch with Perrie next to him.
"Hey Perrie," I waved.
"Hey Alli," she flashed me a smile.
"So," I turned to the three boys that stood around me, "where's my best friend and my surprise?"
"Upstairs in Niall's room," Liam smiled. I walked up the stairs as fast as a pregnant girl could to get to my surprise. I burst into Niall's room to find him lying on his bed, shirtless in gym shorts, with his headphones in. "Niall!" I shouted. He picked his head up and finally noticed me standing in his doorway.
"What do you want?" he asked, knowing full well what I was here for.
"I want my surprise. This is the longest you five have ever kept something from me and I hate it. Tell me, tell me now," I demanded.
"Calm down woman," Niall held up his hands in defense. He climbed off his bed and walked out of the room. I huffed and sat down on the edge of the bed, waiting for him to come back. He walked back in carrying white clothing.
"What the hell are those?" I asked, getting slightly irritated - partially from them not telling me anything, and partially from the hormones coursing through my body.
"They're onesies," Niall said proudly. He laid them next to me, but not before grabbing the one on top. He held it up and I saw that they were baby onesies. The one Niall held in his hand had Zayn's smolder face on it. I looked through the pile next to me and saw each onesie had a boy's face on it. Tears started brimming in my eyes.
"Oh no, you don't like them," Niall saw the tears in my eyes, "I'm sorry. Zayn suggested it and I thought it was a cute idea." He stammered on as he reached for the pile, but I grabbed his arm to stop him, "No, Niall. I'm not crying because I'm upset. I'm crying because I'm happy. I love these." I watched as a smile spread across his face. I let loose a laugh as I looked through the surprise.
"These are so cute. Thank you Niall," I pulled him down into a hug. I felt Niall sigh as I hugged. I guess everyone was on edge these past couple of weeks with the whole Austin thing on top of stress that was already happening, and me being pregnant did not help in the slightest bit. I let go of Niall and saw the rest of the boys standing in the doorway. With Niall's help, I got up and gave them each a thank you hug.
"Thanks guys, this means a lot to me," I said, "Now the fun part is deciding which one to bring the baby home in." I knew saying that I have started World War 3 in this household with each boy fighting over who's face the baby should wear. I chuckled and gathered up my gift. I left without a word, leaving them to fight over something as dumb as that. I climbed into the car and pulled out to drive to Justin's house.
