"Get away from me!" I yelled, as I fidgeted away. I opened my eyes to see Jack looking back at me with a hurt expression on his face. I was sweating, I was panting. I was tired.
"S-Sorry.." I stammered.
Jack sighed, "Look, you've been through enough already. The last thing I want to see is you getting hurt again.." Jack trailed off.
"W-What do you mean?" I said.
"You just don't understand.." He trailed off. The tears are about to come.
I stood up. "Of course I understand. I understand how you completely feel. I know how you want to protect me, but you can't. I know how you want me to stay here, but I can't. I know you want to love me but.." I trailed off, tears stinging in my eyes.
Jack took ahold of me on my arms.
"Even though I can't love you, I can try." He finished.
