Chapter 10

                   I thought I heard Jack say something, but it was too quiet. I guess he talks to himself. I glanced at the clock. It was 7:00 P.M. It wasn't really past my bed-time, but I wanted to do something fun. Like maybe a movie or a game? 

"Hey, Jack?" I asked.

"Mmm?" He grunted.

"Wanna play a game?" I asked, tilting my head.

He stared at me for a moment before replying to me, "What game?" he asked.

I shrugged.

"Hmm..." "How about hide and seek?" He suggested.

"Sure." I said without thinking.

"Whose gonna seek?" I asked curiously.

"Hmm..." He said, tapping his chin like he was thinking really hard.

He clapped his hands like a little kid. "I'll seek, and you hide!"

"Okay.." I answered. 

Few minutes later, I hiccuped.

Jack tilted his head to the side and asked, "What's wrong?"

I shook my head. "Probably just cold." I said bluntly.

"Okay!" He clapped his hands again and told me to go hide.

I scrambled towards the door. I better not make any trail towards my hiding spot or not making any sound. I scanned the house. 

'Think, think, think!!' I thought frantically. 

"28.." Jack yelled across the room.

I spotted a nearby closet. It's probably big enough for me to hide inside it. Quickly, I opened the door quietly and jumped inside. 

"Ready or not, here I come!" Jack yelled across the room. I pressed my ear towards the closet door. I heard each door banging with each might. It seemed that Jack as searching everywhere, and everything inside of each object too. The banging noise kept getting louder and louder until I heard nothing. I pressed my ear on the door harder, trying to detect any sound, any movement, ANYTHING. I started sweating when the footsteps got louder towards my hiding spot. Then the footsteps stopped. I held my breath for a minute. Then I heard the footsteps fade away. I let out the breath I've been holding in for so long. Just as I tried not to make any sound, it just HAD to make out a sound as I exhaled. Suddenly the closet door I was leaning my ear against too, suddenly opened, sending me headfirst towards the ground. 

"GAH!!" I gasped, landing on the floor.

"Found you!" Jack yelled with glee. 

"I finally found you.." Jack muttered so quietly under his breath.

"I finally found you.."
