The rest of the week went pretty quickly.

In the end Luke and I decided to go as Pebbles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble for our party, and word spread quickly that for our seventeenth we were having a fancy dress.

Suddenly it was all people were talking about.

Who would they go as? What would their friends go as? Would their boyfriend or girlfriend coordinate with them? What could they be that was original? Were we not a bit old for that? Did they think people would actually take it seriously?

Luke ordered our costumes online and they were to arrive next Thursday, just one day before our party.

I spent for ever looking for a present for Luke.

Why are boys so hard to shop for?

I did ask him what he wanted but of course he wasn't very helpful! He said he didn't mind as long as he liked it.

Yeah. Vague much Luke?

In the end I got him a 'Mr. Grumpy' tee and a new wallet. He had been complaining his wallet was falling apart for ages so I figured he would appreciate that. I managed to find one almost identical to the one he already had.

Apart from that there was nothing out of the ordinary, although I did manage to get myself a detention for forgetting my homework in Spanish, so I had to stay behind after school on Friday.

I wouldn't have minded but It meant I had to walk home, by myself, in the rain.

Great.

Three o'clock came around quickly enough, and I headed for the Spanish room. The halls were empty and quiet, every one had already left as soon as the bell rang.

As I made my way past the locker rooms I heard a noise...not one I wanted to hear. Getting louder...louder...louder....

''AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!''

''WOOP!!! WOOP!!!''

The entire soccer team stampeded down the halls right in my direction.

Crap, now I'm going to get trampled on!

I managed to avoid getting banged into for the most part as they ran past me in a loud, rowdy clump towards the back door of the school and onto the football pitch.

Why they wanted to play soccer in the pouring rain beets me.

I just stood still trying to take up as little room as I could, and just when I thought it was safe to move again...

BANG!

Some ass hole banged me right into the lockers and my books flew everywhere.
