Yeah, this cliche really needs to go up and die somewhere. Apparently, any crazy person can somehow predict the future events of the story, not only spoiling possible plot twists, but also leaving a bad taste in a reader's mouth. No one likes when the plot is spoiled for them. Having a character spoil it is especially worse.
