This cliche isn't so bad for me as I easily enjoy this type of humor, but a lot of people wouldn't agree with me. Most people do not like getting grossed out, especially when they are watching a TV show. Therefore, this humor has a kind of mixed audience. You are either going to be like me and laugh easily at pretty much any joke, or you'll lose your lunch after the fifth joke. The only way to avoid this mixed response is to make the humor relatable and not so bad that people are going to barf at the sight of it. I've seen this done before and it definitely works.
