While Val and Maks were at home getting the house set up for Christmas, Derek and I got put on Christmas tree duty. He and I got into his car and headed to the Christmas tree lot. So, how was your trip? I asked. He nodded. It was great. he said with a smile. I smiled. How's Bindi? I asked. She's great. he said. I pulled out my phone as it vibrated in my pocket. SnapChat from 💍💙 Fiancé 💙💍 I rolled my eyes and loaded up SnapChat and played his Snaps. I rolled my eyes. So much for Maks AND Val being on house duty. I said as I showed Derek the SnapChats. He rolled his eyes. Of course. he said. I rolled my eyes and dialed Maks's number. Ey. he said. Hey, is Val with you? I asked. Uh..he said. That's what I thought, he went to the boxing gym right? I asked annoyed. Possibly...Maks said. I rolled my eyes. I saw the videos. I said with a laugh. Well, how are things coming along at the house? I asked. Good, I think you'll be very impressed. he said. Good, thanks Maks; always knew you were my favorite Chmierkowskyi brother. I said with a laugh. He laughed. You and D get the tree yet? he asked. No, we're heading there now. So, I'll let you go and get back to doing stuff around the house. When Val comes back, tell him I'm mad at him. I said with a laugh. He laughed. I will, see you soon. he said. Bye Maksie. I said as I hung up the phone. Derek pulled up to the Christmas tree lot and we got out and started looking around at all the trees. What about this one? Derek asked picking up a small tree. I laughed and rolled my eyes. I pulled out my phone and took a picture of him and laughed. If we can't find another one, we'll come back for it. I said with a playful smile as I pulled him through the aisles of trees. What about this one? I asked as we stopped in front of a tall, well maintained tree. Derek nodded at it. What do you think? he asked. I nodded. It has potential. I said with a laugh. He laughed and nudged me. Okay, you wait here. I said to Derek as I walked into the lot to pay for the tree. Hey, what can I do for you? the lady asked. I want to buy that tree over there. I said pointing to where Derek was standing next to the tree. She smiled. That's a perfect tree; that'll be $75. she said. I nodded and pulled out my wallet and pulled out the cash. Keep the change. I said with a smile. She smiled at me. Merry Christmas. she said. Merry Christmas. I said waving at her as I walked back over to where Derek was trying to lift up the tree. I laughed and took a picture of him. He glared at me. Really? he asked. I smiled innocently at him. Would you mind helping me? he asked. All you had to do was ask. I said as I helped him lift the tree and walk towards his car. We put the tree onto the top of his car and tied it down. That should be good, right? Derek asked. I nodded and got into the car as he did the same. We both buckled up and Derek headed towards the house.
