I stare into the black abyss above me.
My arms are folded on my stomach,
Retaining my little warmth.
The dewy grass is cool,
Leaving little beads of water
On my skin.
I am dumbfounded
By the sight.
Tiny specks of light
Shine above,
Creating pictures.
Orion.
Cepheus.
Cassiopeia.
I try to spot them in the sky.
For a moment,
I am lost in space.
I marvel at its beauty.
However,
As I avert my gaze,
I see the dark purplish light
Grazing the treetops.
The city lights,
polluting the beautiful sky.
It reminds me
Of reality.
I take one last moment with the stars,
Imagining myself in the dark nothingness,
And rise to my feet.
As I walk back inside,
The colossal stars,
Appearing so tiny,
Stay transfixed above.
They are stellar,
and I am just
average.
