Love Fades

Clouds drift away.

Color fades to grey.

Light dims to black.

Foundations start to crack.

Photographs begin to blur.

Strength depletes, for sure.

In heat, ice melts.

Pain eases, no longer felt.

The sun gradually sets.

Creatures escape nets.

Pens run out of ink.

In the dryer, clothes shrink.

Children leave the nest.

Pioneers move west.

Shoes become too small.

Leaves start to fall.

Gems lose their shine.

Love fades. So has mine.
