The snow crunches beneath your feet as you trudge through it. The racquets attached to your heavy winter boots were definitely not helping.
"Lukas-" You panted, reaching towards your boyfriend's back. Your gloved hand barely skims his red coat but it's enough to get his attention. He turns back to you and quirks an eyebrow.
"Tired?" His voice is low and teasing. A smug grin settles across his features.
The fact that you had stopped moving gave you the chance to catch your breath. The cold winter air stung your lungs as you breathed. "Yeah. I am." You frowned, condemning his grin. "I didn't know snow shoeing was such a workout!" You threw your arms up (as high as your parka would allow) in exasperation.
"You did say you wanted to get in shape." He closes the small space in between you as he wraps you in a warm hug.
"Yeah well the sun reflecting off the snow is searing my eyes out." You frown.
"That's not my fault." He reminds you.
"Yes it is. Make it stop." You grumble.
He laughs curtly. "No can do, baby doll." He flicks your nose and turns around before beginning to walk again.
You let out an audible whine before following him. You couldn't exactly drag your feet because the toes of the rackets would catch in the snow and you would...
You dragged your foot in the snow and pitched forward and fell face first into the cold fluff. "Mmfph." You grunt.
You can almost hear Lukas roll his eyes. The sound of his footsteps approaching makes you smile into the snow. His big hands lift you up by your underams and he attempts to put you back on your feet.
Only you refuse to stay standing. You let your entire weight lean into Lukas and moan. "My legs are tired." You make your knees buckle to prove your point.
Lukas let's out a sigh before hoisting you over his shoulder and turning back towards home. "You suck." He mumbles.
"You bet I do." A grin creeps onto your face. "And I'm good at it too... if you know what I'm talking about." You whisper in his ear.
Lukas shivers (not from the cold) and shifts you on his shoulder, tightening his arm around your mid section. "Well you're going to have to make up for all this lost time somehow." He smirks.
