You paced back and forth, bored out of your skull. Suddenly something outside the window caught your attention. No, it wasn't the swirling snow. It was something much larger. "Mattie..." You called. "Mattie, we have a problem..!"
Matthew ran to your side and peered out the window. A large ship was approaching. "Uh oh." He grabbed the microphone and soon tuned into the communication mainframe of the incoming ship. "Please divert your course fifteen degrees to the south to avoid collision." He looked worried as he returned to your side and stared out the window. There was no response from the other side for a few moments. "Please?" Matthew added.
"Recommend you divert your course fifteen degrees north to avoid collision." A voice came from the other end.
You paused. "Is that... Alfred?"
Matthew shrugged. "Negative." Matthew spoke into the microphone again. "You will have to divert your course fifteen degrees to the south to avoid a collision." Matthew answered, glancing over his shoulder at a map that hung on the wall.
"This is the captain of a U.S Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course."
You sighed and shook your head. "Yep. Definitely Alfred."
"No." Matthew spoke sternly. "I say again, you divert YOUR course!"
"This is the aircraft carrier US Lincoln, the second largest ship in the United States Atlantic fleet. We are accompanied with three Destroyers, three cruisers and numerous support vessels. I DEMAND that you change your course fifteen degrees north. I say again, that's one-five degrees north, or countermeasures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship." Alfred's voice cracked a few times, but, he did sound very proud.
Matthew looked at you and you smiled. "Go for it." You kissed him happily. Matthew blushed and cleared his throat, bringing the microphone to his mouth, looking out the window. "This is a lighthouse." He said. "Your call."
