Chapter 17

Aditi's POV

  I waited on the beach while Sonia and Lilly got some mats, and blankets for the bonfire. The sun was about to set in a few minutes. I sat there on the cooling sand as I drew on the sand. Lost in my thoughts I kept drawing lines in the sand. Why does he do things like that? I can't go back to my room knowing that he might be there. Confusing me with everything. First, he pushes me away, tells me he doesn't love me, but then moves closer, tortures my little heart with his actions, and tells me he wants me. What exactly does he mean by it? Is it lust? Is that it? He doesn't love me but wants me...no that doesn't make sense. He would have just told me that, but there is something else. Maybe he just needs me so he can get back at his mother. He did say that remember...if that was it why not just marry me? The stalker...if there is a stalker why hasn't anything happened yet...maybe the stalker doesn't know we are here together. There is no way they wouldn't know. Unless they aren't here. I bit my lip. Okay, then why all the confusing actions. I told him he can tell me everything...maybe he doesn't know himself yet how he feels...do you think maybe he is as confused as I am...maybe he is fighting with himself as to what he wants to do. No...Aditya always knows what he does...AH! I threw the stick away and hugged my legs. I know what that jerk is doing! He is just confusing me so I don't stop thinking about him! That jerk! See if I will think about you at all. Hm...

"You okay?" I turned to look at Charlie standing there with a cooler in his hand with a sack on the other hand

"Hm...what's in the sack?" 

"Oh, this? I found stuff that will help us make a bonfire" He set the cooler behind me, "Now tell me where should I make it?"

"Over there" I pointed 

"Fine" He handed me a small shovel, "Help me dig a crater okay"

"Got it" I began digging a small crater, "Who is bringing the wood?"

"I brought it' He pulled out seven logs from the sack, "You were carrying all of that without a problem?"

"I may not be strong as your Aditya, but I am pretty strong you know" He smirked at me

"I think you are stronger"

"Why is that?" He sat down next to me and began digging as well

"You are strong enough to show people your actual emotions. You don't have to hide behind faces"

"I don't think he does it cause he isn't strong"

"No?"

"No, he hides behind faces, because he wants to protect the people he loves"

"I don't understand"

"Now think of it this way...if an assassin had a family wouldn't his identity be his biggest weakness. If people knew he had a family, the way to get to him would be through his family. Aditya has already revealed to the world that he holds his father on this pedestal...if people were to find out that he had more than one person that sits on that pedestal won't it be easier to hurt him? As you have seen, him being around you has caused him problems already. He can't go anywhere without thinking that he might have somehow endangered your life again...So he left. I don't know if his feelings for you are genuine or if he is just playing with your emotions for an ulterior purpose, but one thing is for sure...he does care" It felt like something tightened around my heart

"Hey! I hope you both aren't starting without us!" Lilly said running towards us

"You will think about what I said?" Charlie looked at me

"Hm" I nodded 

"Of course not my love," Charlie said smiling at Lilly

"Where is Sonia?" I asked
