ABHIRATH POV:)

"I don't trust that Trupti," Vedanti whispered, her voice laden with sadness and curiosity as she stared into my eyes, searching for answers. "I know there must be a catch in this, right, Abhi?"

I stood there, feeling utterly blank, memories of that fateful night flooding back with painful clarity. How could I even begin to explain, to share that dark truth with her? "Abhi," her voice broke through my thoughts, pulling me back to the present. "Whatever she said is true. I mean, I don't want to explain further," I admitted, unable to meet her gaze, consumed by guilt and shame.

And then it happened. A tight slap across my cheek, the force of Vedanti's hand sending shockwaves of pain through my entire being. One slap turned into two, then three, relentless in its assault. She didn't stop until her hand was red and throbbing, and my cheeks bore the unmistakable imprint of her rage.

The room fell silent, save for the echo of her hand against my skin, a painful reminder of the fracture in our trust, the weight of my betrayal heavy in the air. As I looked into Vedanti's tear-filled eyes, the depth of her hurt mirrored my own, and I knew that nothing could ever mend the wounds I had inflicted upon her heart.

"You know what? I am a fool," Vedanti's voice trembled with emotion as she spoke, her words laced with pain and bitterness. "I consider myself great and intelligent, yet here I am, an emotional fool. People like you use me and discard me as if I don't exist. I should have died that day with my parents. Why did you save me, Abhirath, just to repeatedly Kill me by your actions?"

Each word pierced through me like a dagger, a stark reminder of the devastation I had wrought upon her. As tears streamed down her cheeks, my heart shattered into a million pieces. I had inflicted wounds upon her soul, wounds that may never fully heal.

In that moment, a sense of overwhelming guilt consumed me. I was the architect of her pain, the cause of her suffering. She questioned her worth because of me, doubted her own existence because of me. She turned away, leaving me to grapple with the magnitude of my transgressions.

As she disappeared from my sight, I was left alone in the confines of my chamber, consumed by a tempest of emotions. Anger coursed through my veins as I hurled objects across the room, the physical manifestation of my turmoil. Why her, Mahadev? Why must she endure such suffering, such heartache, when she has already borne so much in her short life? The questions echoed in the emptiness of the chamber, unanswered and haunting.
