Seeking Light in Despair

Through countless heartbreaks, abandonment, ghosting,
Betrayals from lovers, friends, even family,
These repetitions have left me cold, detached, desolate,
My heart now a fortress, surrounded by thorns.

Loneliness and lethargy have become my companions,
As I grow accustomed to this new normalcy,
I've lost touch with my old self, forgotten who I once was,
Living in this convenient solitude, protected but alone.

No longer do I look around, my gaze fixed ahead,
Navigating life with the knowledge of its inevitable end,
I hold on, clinging to the fragments of my shattered heart,
In the depths of despair, hopelessness takes hold.

A heavy burden, weighing down my every step,
The world seems bleak, devoid of light,
Dreams fade like wisps of smoke, lost in the void,
Hope, a distant memory, a flicker extinguished.

Yet, in the midst of this darkness, a spark remains,
A glimmer of hope, however faint,
Whispering softly, urging me to endure,
To find strength in the depths of my despair.

For even in the face of hopelessness,
There lies a resilience, a flame that refuses to die,
And though the road is treacherous and long,
I'll keep pressing on, seeking a glimmer of light.
