Statue of Self-Deprecation

They say those who ran away are cowards,
But here I am, a coward in my own way.
I stayed, yet I feel even more afraid,
Unable to take a step forward, my life delayed.

I long to escape, to run away from it all,
But the fear within me keeps me in this fall.
Like a statue, I'm glued to the ground,
Paralyzed and dumbstruck, lost and bound.

Loneliness engulfs me, a constant companion,
In the depths of my soul, there's no salvation.
Each day passes, and I'm trapped in this haze,
A prisoner of my own thoughts, in a lonely maze.

In self-deprecation, I find solace and despair,
Mocking my own existence, a burden I bear.
But within these words, a glimmer of hope,
That one day, I'll break free from this endless rope.
