The Longing Within

Once, I knew the joy of anticipation,
Genuinely looking forward to tomorrow's creation.
But now, the memory fades, elusive and dim,
Lost in the depths where hope grows thin.

Loneliness wraps around like a heavy shroud,
Depression's weight, a suffocating cloud.
When was the last time I truly yearned,
For a future bright, where my spirit burned?

Days blend together, a monotonous haze,
No flicker of excitement, no hopeful rays.
Lost in this void, I wander aimlessly,
Longing for the days when I felt free.

Oh, how I miss the anticipation's embrace,
The genuine thrill of a tomorrow's grace.
But now, it feels like a distant dream,
Lost in the darkness, a silent scream.
