He's so kind, it fills me with a bittersweet sorrow,
For such a noble and virtuous man,
The sight of his wife's body, mangled and torn by disease and medication, would have been a devastating blow,
Yet, I find solace in his goodness.

Even in death's relentless grip, I know he'll find solace,
Another to love and care for him, effortlessly,
This divine irony, a cruel twist of fate,
Opportunities to depart, beckoning with a haunting allure.

My lifeline, a fragile thread, teetering on the brink,
Pain and exhaustion consume me, urging me towards the abyss,
I fight on, to ease your worries, to grasp fleeting moments of happiness,
But doubts linger, have I clung on for far too long?

When I'm gone, may you find solace in another's embrace,
Someone to console, to tightly hold, and breathe life into your world anew,
I must start letting you go, even if the journey is arduous and painful,
My love, don't grieve for me indefinitely.

May you find a partner, strong and willing,
To share your burdens, to complete you, and grow old in blissful harmony,
I yearn to disappear, before his penetrating gaze unravels my soul,
Forgive me, my love, for my borrowed time is slipping away.
