Fleeting Promises

Peter Pan once said, "Think happy thoughts and you can fly."
So, I thought of you, and I soared higher than ever before.
But as I reached new heights, I also plummeted deeper,
And you whispered, "I will never let you fall too far, beyond my reach."
You made that promise, but now you're gone,
Did the wind carry you away from me, or did you simply pass by like a fleeting breeze?

Your promises were as enchanting as a rose,
But your betrayals pierced me like its thorns,
The pain is too much to bear.
I was once cloaked in a rosy hue,
But now, I wander alone through this labyrinth, consumed by sorrow.
