The Loner's Lament

In the depths of my soul, I'm a loner
Even with my family, I feel a distance
I don't seek to be in someone's embrace
But for the one I love, my heart clings

Yet the distance I can give feels unreal
Once love fades, I become unfeeling, unhealed

Isolation is my natural state
Solitude is where I find solace
In the depths of my mind, I contemplate
The emptiness that lingers in this space

Alone, I wander through the night
Aching for a connection, but keeping out of sight
The weight of my heart, heavy and cold
In this lonely world, I've grown old

Yet the distance I can give feels unreal
Once love fades, I become unfeeling, unhealed

So here I stand, a solitary figure
Embracing the darkness, my heart aching and bitter
Loneliness is my companion, my constant friend
In this lonely journey, I'll find my own end.
