Unraveling the Toxicity

You excel at making me feel like a perpetual failure,
Your words never fail to inflict pain and self-doubt.
You never miss an opportunity to remind me,
That I am nothing but disappointment, your regretful mistake.

How many years have come and gone?
Five, or perhaps seven, the details blur.
But I remember, I've carried this burden for too long,
And now I must speak the truth I've always known.

I've heard your venomous words whispered to friends,
Deep within me, their poison has seeped and grown.
In our next existence, may our paths never intertwine,
May our fates be untangled, freeing us from this toxic bond.
