paulina: yeah i can hear you

oakley: why you so awkward and quiet bruh *laughs*

paulina: what you want me to say *laughs nervously*

oakley: hmm i dunno... let me see your face first

paulina: why

oakley: so i know youre not a catfish duhh *laughs*

paulina: *positions the camera to show her face* happy?

oakley: mhm *positions the camera on his counter*

paulina: what are you doing in your kitchen?

oakley: can't you see, i'm makin' cereal because i'm hungry like mad 

oakley: plus the lighting is better innit 

paulina: i guess

oakley: y'know what i've noticed about you right now

paulina: hm?

oakley: you don't got much of an accent in your voice, like i hear it, but it's not quiet there really

paulina: really? well that's a bit of a long story honestly

oakley: i got time

paulina: well, my dad is english and my mom is from here, y'know texas. they divorced when i was really young. i spent my early years in dallas, and my preteen years in manchester. then in dallas, then manchester up until about a year ago. some people say you can still hear an english accent when i'm angry or frustrated, which is a bit funny don't you think? *laughs*

oakley: hm.. interestin. so how was it kinda switchin' to and from countries growin' up? like how'd you reckon it affected you as a child?

paulina: *shrugs* it was actually kinda hard but i got used to it y'know. i had my friends in england and here in the states as well. having divorced parents was the hardest part though.

oakley: yeah it sounds tough but like a cool sort of life story, like livin' double lives almost.

paulina: what about you? like your childhood

oakley: ermm... we can wait till our next FaceTime for that one *laughs*

paulina: oh okay then..

paulina: waitttt, pose for a pic i'm gonna take a screenshot right now

oakley: okay bet

paulina: damn, i look good to be honest

oakley: you mean me *cheekily smiles at the camera*

paulina: nah i don't think so

oakley: wow so i'm ugly then

paulina: you said it, i didn't 

oakley: that hang up button lookin real juicy right about now honestly

oakley: do you have work in the mornin'?

paulina: yeah i do, why do you ask?

oakley: it's about 11 o'clock over there innit? you should get some sleep don't you think

paulina: yeah i should

paulina: but i like talking to you so i wanna stay up 

oakley: *low, sleepy voice* i don't wanna be the reason you miss work or somethin' pau

paulina: it's about 5am where you are right? just say you wanna go to sleep *laughs*

oakley: *laughs softly* okay i wanna go to sleep but you need sleep more than i do

sleepily, i opened instagram and went into my spam account. i opened my story and pressed on the FaceTime screenshot of me and oak. i put the song, "hit different" by sza. i covered oakley's face with the album cover with the music feature and pressed "post."

nothing could go wrong right?
