It's Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Scottsdale, Arizona. At 8:42 in the morning, a thunderous explosion shakes the area. The house at 2223, where the Fisher family lived, has been blown to pieces. Flames several meters high are engulfing the small building. The explosion was so powerful that it shattered the windows of nearby houses and shook those within an 800-meter radius.

When the firefighters arrive to combat the blaze, they quickly realize that if anyone was inside the house, they would not have survived. Everyone holds their breath and hopes that the four members of the Fisher family, the father, the mother, and the two children, were not inside at the time of the explosion. Even if some of them had survived the blast, the ensuing inferno would have been deadly.

The fire is so intense that flames reach over 6 meters high and now threaten neighboring houses. Some neighbors try to protect their homes with their garden hoses. The firefighters eventually manage to extinguish the Fisher family home fire.
