A little more fluff before...

January 6th, 2020 / January 23rd, 2020

Christmas and New Year's had come and gone so quickly. Between having to spend time with both halves of the family, friends such as Blake and Ryan and their kids, along with Rachel and Calum, it was an endless stream of people coming and going as they had offered to host that year.

Charlie had even come to the holidays, embarrassing Billy and Melissa when she referred to Taylor and Jo as her adoptive mothers. No matter how hard they tried to shoo Charlie out into the world, she always called at least twice a week, came home as often as she could to spill cereal on their many couches and texted Taylor at least once a day a strange picture of her doing something on a movie set or otherwise until filming ended in October for a movie that they weren't supposed to know the title of but did.

They really needed to catch up on the Marvel Movies before it was released.

In another gorgeous floral print dress that swept past her ankles, Taylor posed for the cameras at the Golden Globes. Jo had walked the carpet on her own over an hour before, also nominated in the same category as the blonde. Neither of them thought they had any chance of winning, especially since the movie Jo had written for didn't do as well as some of the other nominees.

It did make for a cute date night and a good opportunity to slowly roll themselves out as a couple in front of the cameras once again. It was very rare for them to be seen together, but Tree and Nicole had explained that if they were a little more public about their relationship it would likely stop a lot of the rumours and gossip mill.

It wasn't their first show sitting together but it was still nerve wracking, having been almost a year since their last appearance of that sort.

There had been engagement rumours circling more than once lately. Taylor and Jo both made a point of wearing nothing that resembled a typical engagement ring and especially no rings on their left ring fingers.

Reuniting inside the event, Taylor found her love by their table talking with Nicole, her publicist. She approached softly, taking the initiative to be the one to wrap her arm around Jo's shoulder, surprising her a little.

"Oh finally, hi," Jo said, wearing a simple yet quite elegantly flowing black dress and her hair in curls down past her shoulders.

"Please, just be respectful and remember, you're going to be watched," Nicole warned quietly. The girls nodded and watched her go towards Tree, heading away as they weren't needed for a while.

"Shall we take our seats?" Jo inquired, glancing around to try and get an indication of the time. With suits she could always get away with a watch tucked under her sleeve but her stylist forbade her from wearing another, which meant it was replaced with a golden bracelet that drew attention to her freshly painted fingernails and complimented her dress.

"In a few minutes, I want to say hi to some people," the thirty year old answered. Jo hadn't stopped teasing her about being thirty yet, but Taylor was always quick to remind her that she was less than eleven months older and Jo would be thirty soon enough.

"Right, I forgot you just got here," Jo chuckled, "I've made most of my rounds. I'll accompany you."

"They scheduled us so far apart," Taylor laughed, pulling at the edges of her ballgown to make sure she wasn't going to trip as she began to walk after having let go of her partner.

They spoke for a while until the show began, noticing the cameras that gathered around their table a little more often than usual for award shows when they were alone. Jo didn't hate attending them but she did like when Taylor or on occasion her best friend Rachel, if Taylor wasn't going, accompanied her.
