Now as some of you may know, the Dalmatian family used to have a human of their own: an eccentric millionaire named Dodie Smith, who later left them to live on an island.
The only question is, why?
Well, what if living on an island actually wasn't Dodie's intention? Maybe she was actually just going on a week-long cruise, but she ended up getting stranded. It doesn't even have to have been a cruise; maybe she was just out on a private yacht.
Anyway, none of the Dalmatians ever knew about her getting stranded, so the ones who'd gotten to know her would think that she just decided to abandon them. This would explain their aversion to anyone in the family getting "human'ed up."
Of course, that's just my (probably stupid) idea. What do you guys think?
