You know how Guy Diamond has a naturally auto-tuned voice? Well, according to some promotional material, Techno Trolls can auto-tune their voices as well, and I think I have an idea as to how.
Each Techno Troll's heart has a special part called the Autorta. It's kinda like the aorta of a human heart, except it also allows Techno Trolls to auto-tune their voices. This includes letting out an ear-piercing shriek, the Techno Troll's main defense against predators (though it might not work on Grossums or Finders-Keepers Critters).
Now you're probably wondering, why haven't we seen Synth or Laguna do this before? Well, I think Synth would only auto-tune his voice in an emergency because his mother always favored his natural voice.
And Laguna? For some reason, her Autorta's never been able to auto-tune her voice. Because of this, she'd have to rely on preemptively researching predators to know what to do when faced with one.
Another question: Guy Diamond isn't a Techno Troll, so how is his voice auto-tuned? The world may never know...
Also, I'm thinking that a Techno Troll's heart might also serve the same functions as the lungs.
