I was on my way back to the group, having left to take a leak, when I saw Mangetsu sitting on his bedroll, just staring off into the night sky.
"You ok?" I asked softly, so I didn't wake anyone else.
"Anxious," he answered. "Guess I'm still jumpy after that explosive dude attacked."
I gave him a firm pat on the back. "I hear ya, but you need some sleep."
He didn't move, so I sighed heavily.
"You younger ones need more sleep than us older ones," I said. "Get some sleep. In the morning, I'll run it by the others to have a rotating night watch, ok?"
He looked at me with those big ol' brown eyes.
"Ok," he eventually said, yawning hugely.
"Okay, Roku..." we both turned to Aang, who was sleeping on Appa.
"Uh..." Mangetsu threw me a confused look.
"I guess he's a sleeptalker," I said. "How come I never noticed?"
"Because you're sleeping?"
"That would be a good reason not to notice," I said. "Now make like a possum and play dead."
Mangetsu shook his head at me but was smiling slightly as he lay down to sleep. I looked over to see Mogui with his mouth hanging open, and a wicked grin found its way to my face.
"Muteki," Jin whispered, scaring me slightly.
"Dude, I almost had a heart attack," I whisper-yelled.
"You kicked me," she sighed. "Thought I'd let you know."
"Sorry," I sheepishly smiled, then made my way back to my bedroll.
Next time. Next time I'd see what happens if I stick a leaf in his mouth while he's sleeping.
