Niall immediately ran up to her and tried to soothe her sobs. I was left to stand there, a little terrified.

When would the guilt stop?

She ran inside, and Niall groaned, turning to me. I looked away, hearing him run inside as well.

I opened my door once more, stepping inside. I washed the dirt out from under my fingernails from gardening, sitting down on the couch to think shortly after.

I just didn't understand why he kept kissing me and acting like it wasn't a big deal.

I heard a knock at the back door and wondered if it was Alix ready to strangle me. I walked slowly towards it, still thinking, but I looked up and saw Niall. I stopped in my tracks, almost turning to go back into my house.

"(Y/N)," he called through the door. I sighed, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Please let me in," he pleaded, giving me a face. I groaned to myself, knowing I would regret it, but still feeling his lips on mine.

I walked over and opened the door, watching him glance over at his house.

"Thanks," he breathed out, barging in right to my fridge. "Don't you have any alcohol?" he asked, looking at me. I stood, dumbfounded, shaking my head.

"Why would I?" I wondered, glaring at him.

"Don't be mad at me; you kissed back!" he yelled, pointing at me. I exhaled sharply.

"I will be mad at you until you explain why you keep kissing me," I countered, holding my ground metaphorically and literally. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, looking down.

"The day we first met, I was a little surprised at how beautiful you were," he started. I turned away to blush.

"So, I found a way to test you out and-"

"That was insulting," I growled, putting my hands on my hips. His lips mashed into a line, and I sighed.

"And I had to kiss you before I committed," he continued. I scowled at the ground, wiggling my toes in my shoes.

"And I felt something I have never felt before, and I don't want to stop feeling it," he spoke. I looked up at him, thinking for a second that he liked me. I pushed that thought away, knowing that he was just lustful.

"Well, I'm not kissing you anymore. You're just going to have to stay away from me," I told him, hoping he got the point.

"I don't think that's going to happen."
