This is a request for Fredweaslyprincess hope you like it and I am sorry it took so long.

She pulled at her sleeves, fiddling with the fraying ends of her worn hoodie. The colour dark grey and a mix of several faded stains on the cuffs. The inside wasn't as soft as the beginning as it had been washed over and over and worn just as equally. The hoodie was a comfort - despite simply being an item of clothing, it provided warmth when it felt as though the whole world was cold.

She crept out of her house making sure not to bang into any furniture or make anything fall off the counters. Once outside she closed the back door as quietly as she could, tiptoeing to the end of the garden. Slowly she pulled the rusty gate shut, it creaking slightly, and made her way through the forest, the dirt was soft beneath her feet. A few fallen leaves scattered the path as the seasons began to change, almost like a trail. She pulled up her hood tucking her blond hair inside as the wind blew. Seeing the oak tree ahead she made my way toward it. She pulled her bag off her shoulder and sat down - waiting. Opening the backpack she tipped it upsi-down emptying to content on the floor.
Checking she had everything. So that she wouldn't have to go back. Back to a place where even the shadows found a way to torment her, where getting a bruise from someone at school meant getting another at home. Where dreaming wasn't aloud because the life you have is the one your stuck with. She pulled the list from the floor, the edges had folded and some of the ink had run.

She had everything- everything she needed to run away to escape and finally breath.
With my back against the bark of the tree she took out the book running her fingers across the side, She then did the same to the tree, She thought how bizarre it was that one could become the other.
Finding the page She was previously on, She continued to read, embarking on another adventure.

As She continued to read the world around her began to change the light shifted to dark and the loud became quite. Placing her book back inside her bag She stood up and looked toward the sky. The beginnings of a smile started to appear when She saw the two stars that were the gateway for her new life.
With the stars in sight she found where the trees began to thin and the ground began to rise and the mountain formed. with the bag secure and over both shoulders She walked to the edge. She allowed herself to peer down seeing only rocks below and a sheer drop. In this moment she granted herself a victory. In her life almost daily she found herself in a fight against someone else, she never retaliated knowing that doing so could cause a ripple and then a flood. so for her there was no victory, at home it was the same with parents who acknowledged her only when it made them look good. The victory was small to most but to her, it was the first and therefor, giant.

With a deep breath she jumped forward, she could hear the wind screech in her ears as she fell, but she smiled anyway.
Opening her eyes she saw no rocks that would come to meet her, instead she saw the sea. looking up she saw the shadow carrying her in it's arms, she looked into the luring glow of it's eyes and thanked it. It only nodded in response and gently placed her down on the sand.

Stepping forward the sand fell away at her feet but she continued on deep into the forest. she only stopped when she saw a camp, boys dancing others sword fighting all but one, one boy simply sat and watched. She walked over to him as soon as he saw her there was immediate curiosity. "hello" she spoke
" are you Peter? The leader of this island?" The boy sat In front of her only nodded in response. " I am Carmen " she smiled softly at him " I know this is rude of me but please could I join you and stay on this island? " The boy only watched as Carmen spoke. "I can be useful, I can cook and clean if that's what you need, I am an able fighter and I have stories I can tell" at the mention of stories Peter became interested.

Peter decided to test to see if the really was a story teller inside Carmen. Peter ushered the boys to sit around the bonfire and Carmen to tell the story.
And so they sat and listened. Peter watched as the words fell from her lips and transported everyone listening into the world she had created. Peter saw how graceful Carmen spoke how she captured everyone's attention. He saw how passionate the story made he and how her eyes gleamed. Once the story was told he sent the boys to bed, they all scurried away still marvelling at the wondrous tale Carmen told.

Peter grasped Carmen's had and pulled her deep into the trees.
" you kept your promise on the story, and you told it brilliantly, but are you as good a fighter?" Peter waved his hand forming two swords to appear one in his hand the other in Carmen's. Peter stepped forward, swinging the sword to clash against Carmen's as she rose hers in defence. Peter quickly moved back to attack this time swinging down. Following her instincts Carmen jumped avoiding the sword. A thought popped into her head as she landed on the sword making Peter unable to advance any further.Peter reached down to get the weapon at which point Carmen kicked him away with force causing him to stumble back and into the dirt floor. She grabbed both swords and placed them in front of Peter making him unable to move.

" Well done " Peter smirked " you've proven yourself again. you can stay "
Peter secretly admired the way Carmen fought the way she told stories, he could see a positive future with her on Neverland.

Since then they have embarked on many adventures together exploring Neverland and all the secrets it had to offer. Carmen told their adventures around the campfire again capturing the lost boys hearts and Peters. It was night time, the embers of the fire glowed replicating the stars above another adventure had taken place in the form of a story and Peter still watched in awe. He stood up and grabbed Carmen's hand running away from camp. " Peter where are we going" Carmen asked.
" On our own private adventure " Peter smirked turning back to face Carmen as they ran. the thought excited her, she wondered what Peter may have planned and what amazing memory it would make. Peter lead her deep into Neverland, through Indians camp, mermaid lagoon, pirates cove all the way to skull island. The journey took all night but Carmen and Peter barley noticed as time in each other's company was time well spent, a moment where time didn't matter, it felt as though the world around them was frozen and as cold as captain hooks heart. That nothing else mattered.
When they arrived at skull rock Peter flew them to the top, they sat down together gazing at the starts. When the sun began to rise Peter took Carmen's hand.

" I wanted to show you the sunrise because - because sunrises mean the beginning of a new day, a new beginning and since you've arrived you've given me that new beginning, another chance. what I am trying to say is, now I want something new, something I have never done before I would like a new beginning with you Carmen ?"
The sun rose illuminating Neverland and Peter, the sparkle in his eye gleaming brighter with every word.
Carmen stood there smiling, the whole scenario was just as new to her as it was to Peter and she was thrilled they could do something new together.
And so rather than spoiling this perfect moment with any words Carmen moved forward, Peter held her close and together they shared a thimble, knowing after this neither would ever need a new beginning again.
