As I waited for Barns to stop by I couldn't help but feel excited. Over the past few weeks we have been spending more time together. But maybe he kept coming around because my mom and I kept buying things from him. I really hoped he came to hangout with me because he liked spending time with me too. Talking to him has been the most interaction I've had with another person besides my mom. I know that's kind of a sad thing to admit, but it's true. The sound of a vehicle pulling into the driveway took me out of my thoughts. I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face.

I stood up and walked over to the front door, opening it. "Hey, are you ready to go?" He asked me curiously. "Yeah." I replied with a smile. I locked the door behind me and made sure I had everything. He and I were heading to the local summer fair. Usually I try to avoid it at all costs because  it's chaotic. But he asked if I wanted to go and I said yes. Especially since he just wanted my help with his honey vendor spot at the fair. He had the bed of his truck filled with his tent and honey supplies. "How are you?" He asked curiously as I buckled my seatbelt. "I'm okay." I replied with a small smile. "Good. I'm glad you're doing alright." He replied with a smile of his own as he slowly backed out of the driveway. "How are you?" I asked him once we were on the road.

He said that he was okay, just a little nervous about today. Apparently he hoped he had made enough for his booth at the fair. Once we reached our destination I helped him set everything up. We sat down in a couple of lawn chairs and waited. As the place began filling up with people we started getting a few customers. He dealt with them; I just helped fill the brown paper bags. The day seemed to fly by pretty quickly, which surprised me. For lunch I bought us a couple of hamburgers and fries from a nearby vendor. We ate and made small talk. A could of times we had to stop because of customers, but we didn't mind. A half hour before the fair closed down for the night, we packed everything  up. "Do you wanna walk around the place for a little bit? We could go to the local diner for a late night dinner." He said after locking up his truck.

"Sure. I wouldn't mind seeing what everyone has." I replied. The two of us walked for a while and we stopped at a little carnival type game. We both decided to play it, which was fun. We got a little competitive, but not too much. He ended up winning a big teddy bear. "Here." He said as he handed it to me. "What?" I asked, surprised. "You can have it. I saw you eyeing it the whole time we played the game." He said, and I blushed a little. I laughed shyly and thanked him as I took the teddy bear and cuddled it a little, which made him smile. After that we left and headed to the local diner. I ended up ordering  pancakes and he got the same thing. I couldn't help but to feel happy when I was with him.
