Kade is a little pissed, "Well Tony, you're a dark horse. In the truck you talked of wanting a girlfriend, and all the time you were going to the bone yard with the big boss lady. I bought your innocent boy routine, I guess we all did!" He says, disappointment showing on his face.

My mother raises a silencing hand towards Kade's face, "Please - there are things you don't know. Have respect until you have facts," she says, with assertion.

Tony begins to tremble, "I'm not a horse, I'm a human being, just the same as you Kade," he shouts, tears beginning to prick his eyes.

My mother embraces him, "Of course you are Tony. Now calm my child: calm- calm-calm, "she repeats, while embracing him and continually sweeping her hand through his hair.

But he doesn't calm, his breathing becomes heavy, he sweats profusely and then becomes hysterical, raging at Kade - "I'm not a horse - you shit - I'm not a horse...!"

My mother struggles to control him. As his rage escalates, my father grabs him in a bear hug, using all his strength to prevent Tony from lashing out, while my mother continues to use calming words to sooth him; they have little effect.

Lucindy clearly enjoying the mayhem, smirks, "You're almost right, Kade; except I'd say Tony is more a stallion," she says, caressing her stomach..."

...."STOP!" Shouts my mother; the first time I've heard her raise her voice.

Her raised voice is a catalyst for chaos: Baby Belinda begins to wail,

Tony groans like a wounded animal, and Lucindy cackles maniacally.

And Little Kelvin's sudden tears add to a chaotic chorus of distress that jars with Lucindy's manic laughter, creating a sinister symphony to accompany the advancing sunset.

*Shudders*

Kelly immediately dashes to comfort Kelvin and the baby, while Troy helps my father to control Tony, who is incredibly strong and needs the combined man power to prevent him from lashing out at Kade.

Tony's reaction is most extreme, to say the least.

......

While Kelly sees to Kelvin and the baby, and my parents and Troy attend to Tony - Kade and I keep our focus firmly on Lucindy. There's not a hope in hell of either of us turning our backs on her!

Even through her veil, I can see her face is wallowing in the distress that surrounds us.

When I take Kade's hand, she immediately flinches and her expression darkens - she really does have a thing for Kade.

Her hands move to her right and she turns slightly, pulling apart the tulle like fabric of her gown, revealing her bare waist and right leg.
